The Sonic Zombie series is a saga of Stylistic Suck videos made in Garry's Mod featuring Sonic the Hedgehog and friends in the midst of a Zombie Apocalypse. They were created by Steve AKA Balena Productions, who became famous for his Sonic in Jaws video.The series officially ended on September 16th 2015, with the aptly named "Sonic Zombie The Finale". In June 5th of 2017, Balena released a bonus one-off titled "Sonic Zombie Forces", based on the then-upcoming video game Sonic Forces. | |

Early-Installment Weirdness: Apocalyse 3. The narrator's voice is lower and less enthusiastic. The effects are much worse. The streams used to make their heads move are actually visible this time. The ending is far more closed in than following videos, and a bit of a downer at that. Shadow is bitten by zombies, they break in and take down Amy, Rouge, and Tails, and Sonic runs into a base just to get bit by a zombie Shadow. There is no Sequel Hook like the following videos, probably because they weren't originally planned. The video is far shorter than the rest. This barely totals over four minutes. Everything after has no less than thirteen, aside from the bonus Forces. Amy and Rouge only show the slightest hint at the personalities they will later get, and Tails doesn't at all. (He doesn't even speak.) Sonic's character seems to be a blend of his pre-Origins and Origins-onwards selves. Shadow is the only one that remains the same throughout the whole series. The zombies actually are the main and only conflict force this time. This also lacks the Monster of the Week that eventually shows up in the later installments. | |

Sonic is reluctant...but the decision's taken out of his hands as his own past self, Hummer and Sonic Unleashed model and all, runs over Big, leading to him dying in a flaming wreck and ending the zombie nightmare before it ever begins. The result is that the Christmas part in Origins goes swell with no zombies, and even the Chaotix trio showing up on behalf of Ikea, supplying Rouge with a new bed. Everything is okay...well except for Rouge really being a monster who wants to eat Sonic's soul. That and it was All Just a Dream anyway. | |

Character Death: In a zombie apocalypse, there's gonna be a lotta death. In Origins, Cream is bitten by a zombie while pouring champagne for the others. She ends up biting Knuckles while zombified, who later turns into a huge red zombie creature. Wreck-It Ralph also dies. In Apocalypse 3, everyone in the main cast (Sonic, Tails, Amy, Rouge, and Shadow) is assumed to have died during the zombie raid. Subverted when we find out Rouge survived and "fixed everyone," in the words of Billy. In Thing 2, Dr. Eggman and Shadow were thrown off a roof, and were assumed to have died. Godzilla, the zombie lord, also dies. Diaries has the deaths of Sonic and Rouge's baby son, Classic Sonic, along with Mario and Spider-Man (all killed by Satan). Silver was thrown off into the woods by Satan, presumably to his death, then Tails kills Satan. Vengeance has the real deaths of Eggman and Silver. Knuckles also returns. In Space, numerous clones of the main cast are killed by Rouge, Shadow, and Knuckles, who ended up surviving the ordeal in Origins. At the end, when the group is leaving the space station after getting kicked out by Blaze, Shadow realizes he's left his bomb on the station. It explodes, killing Blaze and any other clones that may have survived. In Doom Ship, new characters Vector, Espio, and Charmy all end up dying. In Shopping Mall, Silver's crew members, Pikachu, Mega Man, Bowser, and the Dolphin all die. Finally, the clone of Dr. Eggman that survived the space station crash and ended up joining Sonic's team in Doom Ship also dies after breaking his back. In Finale, Tails and Cream's son, Pablo, dies after their hot air balloon crashes. Silver returns once again but is finally killed. Numerous recolors at the carnival are killed, and their leader, Scourge, is also killed. Finally, Rouge is killed during the confrontation with Scourge atop the roller coaster. All of these deaths are ultimately subverted since the whole series was All Just a Dream, and therefore, none of these deaths ever even happened. | |
