"Super-Hero-Bowl!" is a video created by ArtSpear Entertainment as part of their Toon Sandwich series, created using Adobe Flash and After Effects, and debuted in January 2017. The video is over 10 minutes in length, and features several cameo appearances of numerous protagonists and heroes from various movie and television franchises. Production on this video first started around June 2016, when the ArtSpear Entertainment staff began recording dialogue. The video aims to answer one of the most commonly debated question of all: Who is the ultimate hero? In a comedic free-for-all, that's what the combatants are forced to find out as they are all pitted against each other in a battle of life and death. As of the creation of this page, the video has garnered more than 5 million views on YouTube alone.A sequel, "Super-Villain-Bowl!", was released in April 2018. It follows the same premise as its predecessor, except this time featuring an ensemble cast of well-known villains from film and television, adding more humor and more bloodshed. Unlike the first installement, however, it also adds more of a backstory to the events being played out.In December 2019, "Super-Showdown-Bowl!" was released, featuring the participants of the first two death matches (plus a few new faces) teaming up to take on the Oscar being forcing them to fight in the first place. In December 2020, the first installment of a sequel series, FANFICTASIA, set eight years later, premiered.

Giant Foot of Stomping: Oh so many times, in all three videos... the ending sequence of "Super-Hero-Bowl!" where a whole group of characters gets stomped upon by progressively larger combatants (Ant-Man — Johnny Rico — Hulk — Optimus Prime — Dr. Manhattan), and in "Super-Villain-Bowl!" it's a Tripod stomping on Dr. Octopus and a Sentinel. And later in "Super-Showdown-Bowl!" Oscar himself stomps down Luke, Han, and the miniaturized Godzilla.

Naked on Arrival: It's heavily implied that the hero and villain combatants awaken without their clothes on, since the first characters introduced (Spider-Man in "Heroes", and Harley Quinn in "Villains") immediately ask where their clothes are. Voluntary Shapeshifting: Two of the villains end up not being what they look like: First, the Joker about to be "smithed" by Agent Smith happens to be The Thing instead, and eats off his hand. Then, when Enchantress tries to make Harley Quinn her minion, she points out "I'm not from DC... I'm from T2 and reveals herself to actually be the T-1000. (Meanwhile, the real Harley is invisible thanks to the One Ring). Also used to justify a background error. The Vulture is seen grabbing Maleficent's wings after dying in a background shot. the creator claims that the Vulture grabbing Maleficient is actually the Thing.

Actor Allusion: After revealing Oscar's weakness to the rest of the group, Doctor Strange (in an allusion to his actor, Benedict Cumberbatch, also portraying Sherlock) attempts to congratulate Hermione (portrayed by Emma Watson), but is promptly shut down. When the time-travelers arrive at the previous Super-Hero-Bowl, the Delorean bumps into the flying Neo, prompting the following response from Ted (Neo and Ted are both portrayed by Keanu Reeves): At the end, Snape states that the heroes and villains' new society shouldn't be named after a single property as it wouldn't be fair to the rest. Hans Gruber, The Sheriff of Nottingham, and Alexander Dane (all characters portrayed by Alan Rickman) immediately start agreeing with him.

Plot Hole: Dr. Manhattan states that a forcefield generated by Oscar prevents any teleportation out of the arena. However, in "Super-Villain-Bowl!", the power of the Space Stone transported "Darth Xeno" to outer space, and at the start of this one, Scarecrow is sent to Oz by the same Infinity Stone. If not chalking it simply as a Series Continuity Error, you can infer that the Space Stone can ignore the Teleport Interdiction, though this begs the question: Why don't the protagonists then take advantage of this?

Death by Irony: Oscar takes down several characters with attacks and weapons identical to the ones they use regularly; notably Spider-Man with a webline, the Ancient One with a portal, Hela with a summoned sword, Black Panther with claws, a Xenomorph with a deadly tongue, Batman with a batarang, and three katana-wielders with a katana-shaped blade. He also takes down two Quicksilvers and the Flash with Super-Speed and cuts off Ash's chainsaw hand with one of his own. Oh, and he takes out Elektra with lightning.

A massive crossover featuring a bunch of different characters teaming up to take on a major threat? That threat being extremely powerful being who shrugs off most attacks with ease? The plan to defeat this being necessitating Time Travel? Yeah, this installment is basically Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame with even more characters involved. There's even a scene where Oscar turns half the combatants into dust by snapping his fingers. Ironically, Thanos and the Avengers are on the same side this time.

Taken for Granite: Captain Davy Jones's attempts to flirt with Medusa backfire, resulting in this. Also happens to King Kong, when he grabs Jadis the White Witch, she retaliates by turning him to stone. And again with Queen Ravenna, when she implies that Jadis's ugliness is what killed King Kong. Jadis manages to stone her just as she is dispersing into a conspiracy of ravens.

Super-Hero-Bowl! (Web Animation) / int_d355ba37 | comment |
Turned Against Their Masters: Despite being inspired by many characters from Earth movies, all the heroes and villains were still created by Oscar for entertaining the mass. Which mean that when they collectively revolt, they're turning against their creator. Of course, considering that he was having them killed repeatedly in a never-ending cycle, and he was enforcing obedience through torture, they can hardly be blamed. When Oscar reminds them they will no longer respawn if he is killed, Diana spells it out:

Hoist by His Own Petard: Oscar ultimately loses because he snaps many of his enemies into ashes by copying the power of the Infinity Gauntlet. This includes Gollum, who was hiding invisible thanks to the One Ring; without this, the heroes and villains would have had a hard time locating the ring, which is the weapon that finally brings Oscar's downfall.

Achilles' Heel: Oscar is vulnerable to gold. A lot of characters have items they can use against him and being forced to ingest gold (in the form of the One Ring), causes him to explode. Funnily enough, when his weakness is discovered, Brad Pitt's portrayal of the Trope Namer points out that he's exactly that, right before getting shot in his very heel by an arrow that ricocheted off of Oscar.

Whole-Plot Reference: A massive crossover featuring a bunch of different characters teaming up to take on a major threat? That threat being extremely powerful being who shrugs off most attacks with ease? The plan to defeat this being necessitating Time Travel? Yeah, this installment is basically Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame with even more characters involved. There's even a scene where Oscar turns half the combatants into dust by snapping his fingers. Ironically, Thanos and the Avengers are on the same side this time. Deadpool and Harley Quinn agreeing not to fight each other while claiming to be in love seems reminiscent of The Hunger Games.
