DevilArtemis is a content creator who specializes in skits involving Perfect Cell going up against a variety of different characters, taking over the popular concept by Team Four Star during Season 3 of Dragon Ball Z Abridged, but putting a new spin on it. He's also the current animator and voice actor for TFS's HFIL series and serves a collaborator for recent SXR 123 videos.

Multiple Endings | |
DevilArtemis (Web Video) / int_1aa08f77 | comment |
Multiple Endings: DevilArtemis is fond of posting videos with these. Examples include: "Shallot's Revenge": Kermit gives the viewer the choice to either kick Shallot's ass or spare him. Both endings have Shallot drawing a gun and killing the viewer. "Five Nights at Shallot's": Shallot is woken up in his bedroom by noise. Checking the closet ends with Shallot getting shot by Master Roshi. Turning left ends with Shallot being attacked (and likely killed) by The Slender Man. Going to the bathroom ends with Shallot turning Super Saiyan while taking a massive shit. Finally, the secret ending is an Anti-Climax that has Shallot seeing Kermit talk to a wall, then stumbling across Legoshi kidnapping his pet rabbit. "Super Kermit vs. Giblet": After he is defeated by Super Kermit, the viewer can either "spare" Giblet by letting Zarbon attack him or "destroy" him by forcing him to watch Dragonball Evolution. "Kermit's Jedi Training": When Kermit and Yoda are confronted by Stormtroopers, the viewer can either attack the Stormtroopers (with Yoda using his lightsaber and the Force to dispatch them) or surrender to them (with Kermit, Yoda, and the Stormtroopers insulting the viewer for apparently wimping out before making the viewer choose the first option). "A Day at Kame House": Searching for a Dragon Ball near Roshi's outdoor table ends with Shallot getting blown up by a Saibaman. Searching the interior of Kame House leads to either visiting Roshi's forbidden second floor (death by Roshi's hot dog) or having a drink (being serenaded by Kazuma Kiryu). Searching behind Kame House finds Cell, Kermit, Roshi, Shallot and Snoop Dogg having a party; taking a hit from Snoop's joint leads to a dance routine from Snoop while refusing it leads to Kermit killing the viewer with his spit.

DevilArtemis (Web Video) / int_1e7487cd | comment |
Breaking the Fourth Wall: Cell and Kermit are fully aware that they are characters in a series of YouTube videos and make repeated references to pleasing the fans either by releasing new content, abusing Shallot (who is or isn't aware of the audience depending on the video) or showcasing "great big booty bitches". Often the fans are addressed directly, and occasionally are even "killed" by the characters.

Adaptational Villainy: Master Roshi was a Dirty Old Man, but he was no serial killer who buried his victims around his house. He has gone from this to a Shell-Shocked Veteran of the "Coochie Wars". Shrek is an ancient evil that was sealed away for a long time. When it breaks, he vows to destroy the world in revenge for his swamp being destroyed in the Coochie Wars. Shaggy is a megalomaniac who killed off the rest of Mystery Incorporated in a quest for ultimate power. Though the latter is revealed to have been an accident and Shaggy's villainy is more a case of With Great Power Comes Great Insanity. At one point, Hugh Neutron made an appearance as a malicious eldritch being.

DevilArtemis (Web Video) / int_2b7d29e1 | comment |
Artifact Title: Despite the presence of "vs" in the title of the videos, there's rarely actual fighting involved. In fact, the videos were meant to be based on Team Four Star's videos where Cell faced off against various characters while waiting for the Cell Games to happen. Eventually, Cell states that the Cell Games have been cancelled. Lampshaded by Shallot in the Fall Guys video, followed by Cell stating the reason why he barely does this anymore is that he could just blow up most of his opponents in the span of thirty seconds. Also lampshaded in "How Pefect Cell Met Kermit", in which Cell stipulates that he doesn't fight his opponents in his videos with Kermit unless he wants to.

DevilArtemis (Web Video) / int_3b4f620a | comment |
No Fourth Wall: To the extreme. Most episodes revolve around Kermit and Cell trying to come up with episode concepts that will keep the channel running while steering clear of YouTube demonetization, with token attempts to maintain some level of creative dignity. Characters are aware of camera movements, vie for "screen time" and "main character status", discuss their popularity with the audience, appeal to DevilArtemis himself, and even weaponize the show's budget or lack thereof, up to and including a gun that reduces the production quality of whatever it hits.

Characterization Marches On
DevilArtemis (Web Video) / int_479f9ad0 | comment |
Characterization Marches On: Cell initially acted as his original series' counterpart's confident mass-murdering smug self and to a lesser extent the Team-Four-Star Vs. Battle version, that was trying to keep his composure constantly exasperated by the increasingly inane acts of his opponents. It wouldn't be till later that he would act more in line with his more affable characterization that reluctantly embraces the oddness defined in the DevilArtemis Universe.

Butt-Monkey | |
DevilArtemis (Web Video) / int_47fea76b | comment |
Butt-Monkey: Yamcha. Even when the Cell Games were going to happen, Cell laughed at the idea of fighting him. Years later, Yamcha still doesn't know the Cell Games were cancelled. Not even Ultra Instinct is enough to have him win against Perfect Cell in his base form. Gohan. While still stronger than Yamcha, more often than not his appearances end with him being made fun and/or falling victim to some kind of misfortune, albeit not with the same frequency as... Shallot. Poor dude can barely catch a break. Almost all of his appearances have him being killed, maimed, or demeaned in some way. Best shown in the "Among Us" trilogy of videos, the first one being already dead, the second being ejected despite the imposter being Cooler, and the third being thrown into lava by Kermit. Turns out he exploited and thus subverted this. Since he's a Sayian, all those times getting beaten up have given him several powerful zenkai boosts, witch also explains how he obtained all forms of Super Saiyan up to Ultra Instinct. Frieza. Despite being the ruler of half the galaxy, he constantly finds himself in the shadow of his universally popular brother Cooler, and often ends up in a humiliating position with Cell and the gang. Cell himself suffers from this quite often, as he is regularly beaten, humiliated, traumatized and even raped. Moreso since he is defeated by characters who logically shouldn't be able to harm him. Jigglypuff, in his path to evolving to Wigglytuff, is repeatedly pummeled by a baseball bat, shot, blown up, and smacked around because of Kermit's "training," not knowing that Jigglypuff evolves from using a Moon Stone and not from regular training.

DevilArtemis (Web Video) / int_4f4372e9 | comment |
Early-Installment Weirdness: In contrast to how Cell is largely restrained in talking about his flings these days, early on he had a fling with Chi-Chi which Goku was very upset about. That has only come up since then in series of different videos by DevilArtemis, done in large part to mess with Gohan. And later videos have him back to being buddies with Goku. In his first appearance, Mario's Italian accent was revealed to be fake at the end. This is no longer the case for any of Mario's appearances following this. From a visual standpoint, it utilized traditional animation clips for the first few episodes before gradually shifting to the CGI style that would define its identity.

Unwitting Pawn: The League of Memes were implied to be an entire team of them, as All For One's plan involved absorbing their power in order to destroy the DAU. Firstly, El Hermano gets absorbed after he unlocks Shaggy's true potential, and All For One seemingly absorbed the rest of the League's corpses (sans Miss Piggy) before finally absorbing Shaggy.

Adaptational Badass: Kermit the Frog goes from a regular Muppet to someone who could even go Super Froggy Blue and Ultra Instinct at random points in this series. His current super mode is an ultra buff version. The League of Memes arc reveals he's also a Keyblade user, complete with his duel with Miss Piggy taking place in Kermit's own Dive to the Heart. Even applies to Perfect Cell compared to canon as he goes toe to toe with stronger foes than possible in canon and achieves the Ultra Instinct or get the fan-popular golden form. Other videos have shown him with a stand and another suggests he's made from the DNA of all shounen protagonists. Shallot got this treatment as in his first appearance, he revealed Super Sayian, Super Sayian God, Super Sayian Blue, Kaioken. And later appearances had him going Ultra Instinct and Super Sayian 4. His debut in the series was made around the time he got the basic Super Saiyan form. Joe Swanson is a Stand User and specifically uses Silver Chariot Shrek is now a former Sealed Evil in a Can, and serves as The Dreaded to nearly everyone. Miss Piggy is now a skilled swordswoman, and can also use Bankai. The Penguins Of Madagascar, thanks to an offscreen anime training arc, are a lot more stronger. We've yet to see what Skipper and Kowalski can do, but from what is gathered Rico can hork up a Gundam and fire lasers from his mouth, while Private achieved Super Penguin and is revealed to be capable of Titan-Shifting! Plank, an ordinary plank of wood in his source material, has a superpowered form capable of kicking Cell's ass and can pilot a fighter jet. Mr. Satans formerly imaginary Super Saiyan form is now real in the DAU. It's still not enough to beat Kermit, who somehow blocks the attack with one finger.

Almighty Janitor: Shallot somehow ends up in prison. The average power level in the series is very far beyond any average human law enforcement could reach and Cell confirms him to be one of the strongest fighters in the DAU. Compared to anything else, the police somehow capturing Shallot would definitely count for this trope. Not to mention Kermit states it was because he committed tax evasion.

Delivers another to Miss Piggy in the "League of Memes" arc, implying that her self-centered behavior is the reason why their relationship ended. When All For One attempted to recruit Cell to replace all the clean drinking water in the world with gamer girl bath water, Cell’s immediate response was to set him on fire. In fact, this is the basic setup for all of the "Perfect Cell Vs. All For One" videos. Just before that, Kermit thought that All For One’s plan was going to be to “ban anime titties.” All For One’s response was to clarify his plan was evil, not insane.

Gohan (teen or adult), on the other hand, remains the focus of Cell's hate, despite the Cell Games (and thus Cell's canonical death) not happening in this continuity. Evil Twin
DevilArtemis (Web Video) / int_f2dadf81 | comment |
Evil Twin: Inverted with Cermit (Kermit with a C and a mustache) that while he wants to kill the original, has generally been less dickish and has helped Cell on a couple of occasions. But as far as Kermit's concerned, he's very much the trope. Played more straight with Giblet, Shallot's twin brother from Dragon Ball Legends, though he's portrayed as more pathetic than evil.
