The Anti-Villain League are actually just another branch of the same syndicate behind the Bank of Evil, which is why they're incompetent at stopping villains but have it out for Gru. The Fairy Godmother from Shrek set up not only Fiona's marriage with Charming, but the entire situation that caused Fiona's imprisonment in the first place as well as her being rescued by Shrek specifically, all as part of a way to get revenge on Queen Lillian's family and get the throne. She's also responsible for creating every villain in Far Far Away to give the heroes happy endings and earn their trust. The entire city in Megamind exists to keep Metro Man's ego in check while setting up Megamind to be the perfect villain to him... all so Metro Man would have something to keep him occupied and happy, so that the citizens don't need to fear what he'd do otherwise. | |
