Twitch Plays Pokémon (TPP) is a series of social experiments in which commands representing buttons on an original Nintendo DS (up, down, left, right, A, B, X, Y, L, R, start, and select) and touchscreen coordinates are entered into a chat on Twitch, and then translated into a game of Pokémon via an IRC bot. In short, hundreds of people are fighting over a controller. Throughout its life, Twitch Plays Pokémon has spawned hilarious characters, memorable moments, and even a few religions.Twitch Plays Pokémon Inverse White 2 is the twelfth and final run of the stream's tenth season, which began on January 3rd, 2024, and ended on January 12th, 2024. It served as a direct sequel to the Inverse White run, beginning about a day after the latter concluded, and making several references to its protagonist through the use of the Memory Link feature. Just like its predecessor, it also featured "inverted" type matchups, meaning all type resistances and immunities became weaknesses instead, and vice-versa.While Inverse White 2, like previous Inverse runs, features a mostly unaltered version of Pokémon White 2, it did feature several extra deviations from the base game. Along with reprising the disabled releases and custom C-Gear skins from Inverse White, it also swapped around which of Curtis or Yancy is met by which player character during the story, altered a few Breeders to become a Mirror Boss and an Obvious Rule Patch respectively, and notably became one of the runs with the most battles against previous Hosts available to date, coming only behind the two Chatty Crystal runs.See also here for the archived status of the run.

Palette Swap: As was by that point the norm for "inverted" runs, the type icons and Gym Badges in the overlay had their colors inverted to reflect the run's gimmick.

Gender Flip: A variation. The owner of the lost Xtransceiver found in Nimbasa City is normally determined to be Yancy if the player picked a male character, and Curtis if they picked a female character. However, a patch applied to Inverse White 2 inverts this, and thus the Xtransceiver belonged to Yancy despite the Voices picking a female Host.

Unintentionally Unwinnable: Because of the inverted type mechanics, several of the scripted battles of the Pokéstar Studios movies became impossible to obtain a good ending for, due to requiring a specific set of actions that assumed regular type effectivenesses. A notable example was the very first movie available, "Brycen-Man": obtaining a good ending requires the player to taunt the opponent into using Faint Attack on their Riolu, then using a super-effective move to defeat them. However, the inverted type matchups meant that Faint Attack would actually be super effective on Riolu rather than not very effective, instantly knocking it out without giving it a chance to fight back. Meanwhile, getting the opponent to use a move other than Faint Attack involved flubbing a line, thus resulting in a bad ending anyway. In other words, the movie ended up being a flop no matter what.

Curb-Stomp Battle: The battle against Champion Iris ended up being absurdly one-sided, as Cinccino was able to defeat all six of her Pokémon with a single attack, without taking any damage itself.note The exception was Iris' Lapras, which it initially failed to take down with U-Turn, but then managed to defeat with a single Tail Slap upon switching back in, even after Lapras had healed itself almost to full health. This was due to a combination of Cinccino having surprisingly reasonable speed, being slightly overleveled, and having multi-strike moves that were super-effective against five out of Iris' six Pokémon, which thanks to its Skill Link ability each had an effective base power of 125. This is notably only the second main run in which TPP was able to defeat the Pokémon League on their first try (with the other being the highly unbalanced Resolute).

The Gunslinger: ghycICEIV the Cinccino was widely perceived as this by players due to its use of multi-strike moves that notably included Bullet Seed, even being referred to as "Gunccino" and receiving several pieces of fanart depicting it wielding a gun of some sort. This also more broadly applied to BOH LE herself, as her choice of Pokémon besides Cinccino also included a Cloyster named "Gungir" with a similar affinity for multi-strike moves, or an Octillery named "WAR" with the Sniper ability. Following the run, both Cinccino wielding a handgun and Cloyster holding a speargun were added as stickers on the stream's official Discord server.

Previous Player-Character Cameo: Through the use of the Memory Link feature, the main character from the previous run was seen in multiple flashbacks throughout the run, as well as mentioned by some NPCs. The five PWT tournaments featuring previous Hosts that were featured in Randomized White 2 and Volt White 2 Redux were once more made available, featuring the same selection of previous player characters. Later, a sixth one was added, titled the "Nameless Wind Tournament" and featuring B, OONAt, iii22MT, and CHRONYA. After beating the game a first time, three different Host from previous runs could be found scattered around Unova as NPCs and challenged to a battle: . from Inverse Platinum as a Veteran in the Cave of Being, QZO from Inverse White as a regular Pokémon Trainer in Rumination Field, and Jd from Black & White 3: Genesis as an Ace Trainer inside Wellspring Cave. QZO was fought in a Double Battle, while the other two were faced in Single Battles. Deep into the Nature Preserve, BOH LE encountered and battled against 44X N Y, the protagonist from Volt White 2 Redux. In the last few days of the run, the members of the Pokémon League were replaced by the protagonists of Twitch Plays Pokémon: The Gauntlet: Grimsley by RED from Gauntlet Red, Marshall by dᴾk from Gauntlet Crystal, Shauntal by n from Gauntlet Emerald, Caitlin by .iecbw from Gauntlet Platinum, and Iris by ♀♀R from Gauntlet Black 2. Inside the Game Freak office of Castelia City, ZZZZZZZ from the PokéSus2 intermission was present in lieu of Morimoto. Of course, his Pokémon used their regular sprites rather than the undistinguishable AMOGUS-themed ones from his game of origin; although his original Trainer sprite still appeared in the DexNav.

Obvious Rule Patch: Obtaining the Permit to access the Nature Preserve, which was needed to complete the run, requires seeing every Pokémon in the Unova Pokédex. Mirror Boss: After beating the Pokémon league for the first time, Breeder Irene, an infamous rematchable Trainer found on Route 4, was modified to use whatever team BOH LE herself last entered into the the Hall of Fame. This also unintentionally applied to Gentleman Kavan, a Trainer from the Battle Institute, due to him and Irene sharing the same internal Trainer ID.

Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Right after Team Plasma attacked and froze over Opelucid City, and being asked by Drayden to follow him so they could drive them away, BOH LE just stood there for a moment... and then calmly went the opposite way, back inside the Gym. After Darmanitan was knocked out by White Kyurem, BOH LE decided to just give up and flee the battle, though as she started to step away she quickly turned back and challenged it again.
