For starters, his parents died at some point in his life, and he had sustained a limp due to circumstances. Once he arrives at his new school, he begins to get bullied for his disability with one of the bullies being someone he "assumed" was his friend.While walking home, Dohoon sees a horrifying sight: his fellow classmate, Aji, is in the middle of sinking her teeth into an alcoholic man. After trying to commit suicide, Aji saves him and explains that in return, she would "protect" him so that when he turns 20, she would eat him. More forces reveal that there are other humanoid monsters like Aji out there, a majority being known as "Drinkers" who thrive on drinking human blood. Aji herself is a mutated drinker referred to as an "eater."
