Super Rivals is an Affectionate Parody of the superhero genre written and drawn by John Harrington, the creator of The Savage Sword of Sharona and the brother of Sean Harrington of Spying with Lana fame.The comic is about the misadventures of the lustful superheroine Awesome Girl and the supervillainess Latex Scorpion, who have been paired together as part of a supervillain reform program. Expy: Being an Affectionate Parody of comic books, Super Rivals is naturally full of pastiches and amalgamations of pre-existing superhero characters, often made Hotter and Sexier. Borderline Brenda is a... borderline insane clown girl with a sick sense of humour and talent for getaways. Unitcorn wears a similar Powersuit to the Rhino, but with a sillier theme. Krushya is a scientist turned into a hyper muscular rage monster, but is female and has green hair and purple skin. Terry Stork, Industrial Man, is basically Iron Man, but he is blonde and his more negative aspects—hedonism, poor communication, and jerkishness—have been dialled up a notch. The Hero Babes For Hire, Throwdown and Iron Shadow, are female versions of Iron Fist and Luke Cage. Thunder Bunny wears a outfit similar to Carol Danvers' second Ms Marvel costume, and has Gwenpool's fangirl energy and pink highlights. The shapeshifter Madam Mischief, is a far more sadistic and ruthless Mystique. Alexi "Lexi" Luxor, is a female pastiche of another bald, morally bankrupt, CEO who has it in for superheroes. Scarlett Sorceress is the Scarlet Witch, but with Raven's pointy hooded cape worn over Emma Frost-like lingerie, all coloured red of course. Surefire is Starfire, but with Miss Martian's skintone and a sexier version of her costume. Astonishing Man is the resident Superman Substitute with Liefeldian proportions and touches of Prime from The Ultraverse. Velocity Vixen is a female version of The Flash, with Kid Flash's colour scheme and a huge lighting bolt shaped Navel-Deep Neckline. Dark Sluth is the Batman Parody, sporting little magnifying glasses on his cowl in place of pointy ears. He also appears to be channelling the infamous All-Star Batman & Robin, the Boy Wonder version of the caped crusader, spouting out a nonsensical—profanity riddled—sentence, in his first appearance. Wonderous War Woman, is the Egyptian themed Wonder Woman Wannabe of the setting, who battles evil decked out in Stripperiffic golden armor. S.I.T.E is a clear send-up of A.I.M, being an organized group of rogue scientists in yellow chemical suits. | |
