Ed Zamsa is clinically dead, which he knew before the doctor told him that in a checkup. Bittersweet Ending: In the end Ed finds out he was just a oversight on the higher powers part. Lucy, the Devil's secretary, weighs his soul and it basically comes up slightly short to get into heaven but at least enough to go to purgatory. She does offer him a deal stay on Earth as a zombie or a vampire. But he ultimately decides to move on. The finale of the comic sees his friends around his grave, mourning him. Fortunately for Ed, Apocalyptic Horseplay's imminent apocalypse gives him a reprieve from Limbo, seeing a return to earth as a ghost to see the witch again. They kiss and seem to have disappeared together after the Apocalypse is averted. | |
