Harvey Street Kids is a television series produced by DreamWorks Animation for Netflix, and premiering on June 29, 2018. It is inspired by characters published by Harvey Comics.note But not based on the characters themselves. This cartoon follows the exploits of The Harvey Girls—Audrey, Lotta, and Dot (Stephanie Lemelin, Lauren Lapkus, Kelly McCreary respectively)—the inseparable bestest of best friends the in the whole world. From having multiple flavors of ice cream, to playing a fun game of ball, to having a box of cereal, they will do whatever they can to make Harvey Street a better place.Rallying up the cast are: The Bloogey Boys: Atticus Shaffer as Melvin, The Leader Utkarsh Ambudkar as Fredo, The Lancer who often wears a cape. Roger Craig Smith as Pinkeye, the second Lancer who has a bad case of pinkeye. Smith also plays Bobby the Elder, a wise man...erm, kid who acts as the leader of the Street. Danny Pudi as Tiny, a third-grader who's really, well, tiny. Grey DeLisle as: Lucretia, a Cloudcuckoolander who is completely obsessed with the Harvey Girls. FruFru, a rich girl and Deadpan Snarker who's not best at smiling. To everyone else. She smiles only to herself. The Harvey Street Bow, Harvey Street's Creepy Child who wears a bow. Jamaal Hepburn as Gerald, the new kid in town.Season 2 came out on May 10, 2019, under the name Harvey Girls Forever! A third season was released on November 12th of the same year. Season 4, the final season, was released on January 10, 2020.

Canon Foreigner: Bobby, The Bow, Fredo, Frufru, and Pinkeye were characters created for the show. Also played with, since the "Audrey", "Lotta", and "Dot" of this show are not the originals, but original characters that just happen to have the same names and similar looks. Also, Audrey didn't have a sister in the comics and shorts.

Calvinball: Playing kickball with Harvey Street rules is essentially a never-ending game of making everything up on the spot. It isn't until the last episode of the first season that they get to finish their first match. In the following episode, Zoe admits that she purposely designed the rules this way so the kids could never win.

Birthday Party Goes Wrong
Harvey Street Kids / int_1e6eb73 | comment |
Birthday Party Goes Wrong: In the season 3 finale, the Harvey Girls throw Richie Rich a birthday party (which he never celebrated before since he didn't feel the need to). While the party goes exactly as they planned, it still ends on a sour note when all the emotions prove too much for Richie to handle (since he never experienced the joy of a birthday before), and he runs away from Harvey Street, forsaking the concept of childhood. This ends the season on a cliffhanger, with the girls having to convince Richie to come back at the start of season 4.

Mythology Gag | |
Harvey Street Kids / int_26ac510e | comment |
Mythology Gag: Lotta calls her pre-growth spurt self "Little Lotta", in reference to the original character from the comics. When Dot gives Audrey a comic book with Audrey as a Sword and Sorcery protagonist, it has the old Harvey "clown" logo in the corner like actual Harvey Comics had. In "Pretty in Pinkeye", Audrey's offscreen attempt at making a flaming trampoline burns her hair in a way that causes it to resemble that of her comic counterpart. In the same episode, Pinkeye tells Melvin to lose the crown hat because "this isn't some comic book from the '50s." Harvey Street itself, as well as its founder, is named after Harvey Comics. Zoe calls the Harvey Girls "Little Audrey", "Little Dot", and "Little Lotta", in reference to all three of their original comic incarnations. Richie's A.I. is named Irona, after his Robot Maid from the comics. He also dresses in his classic outfit as part of a mystery party.

Harvey Street Kids / int_60414102 | comment |
Zombie Apocalypse: Parodied in "While You Weren't Sleeping"; Audrey hates nightfall hampering her plans, so the kids light up the neighborhood so they can stay up later. However, almost immediately after midnight hits, the lack of sleep causes everyone to enter a zombie-like state (except for Dot and Lotta, who took disco naps beforehand, while Audrey is temporarily able to fend it off). Another parody makes up the plot of "Blame That Tune" when all of the kids except for Dot and Pinkeye are entranced by a catchy jingle.

Eye Scream: Poor Pinkeye, whose nickname very clearly comes from his condition. He also gets glitter in his good eye in "War and Trees" when the girls release a glitter-filled balloon in the Bloogey Boys' treehouse. In "Campfire Weekend", when he cries, his mucus comes out of his pinkeye. In "While You Weren't Sleeping" his good eye swells shut when he's sleep-deprived. In "The Great Brain Robbery", the first offense that Audrey lists off on Melvin's Long List of infractions is burping in her eye, causing it to burn and become red and irritated. At the end of "Pretty in Pinkeye", Pinkeye touches his eye to Dot's during their dance routine, causing her to contract his condition. Apparently, Lotta once forgot how to blink and had to have her bunnies reteach her.

Cliffhanger: The final episode of the first season opens with the theft of the Harveson statue's hand and a threat that Harvey Street will be stolen at noon. As the kids panic over the threat and paranoia turns them against each other, the Harvey Girls discover that while they were distracted with trying to maintain order, their trailer clubhouse has been stolen... by Audrey's sister, Zoe! In the same vein, the second season ends with all the kids having received tablets with AIs that force them to perform their favorite activities ad nauseum. As the Harvey Girls plot a course of action, they're abducted by an airship owned by Richie Rich. The third season ends with Richie forsaking the concept of childhood after an emotional overload from having experienced joy for the first time in his life. Immediately after, the Harvey Girls get a hologram from future Richie imploring them to change his present self's mind, as it turned out to be the worst decision he ever made.

Tiny's costume in "Harveyween" is Voltron, albeit altered a bit to be symmetrical. There's also Muddy Barry, a reference to Bloody Mary. At the end of "It's a Wonderful LARP", the Bloogey Boys are LARPing based on the Show Within a Show Professor When. In "Clinging in the Rain", Dot attempts to write a novel while stuck indoors, but all she manages to write is "All rain and no play makes Dot a dull girl." over and over. In that same episode, Lucretia approaches the girls by saying "Play with me if you want to live." In "My Sectional Romance," when Pinkeye is about to pelt the Harvey Girls with whip cream balloons he says this gem: In "Raiders of the Lost Park", Audrey mentions that Zoe once attempted to mail her to Abu Dhabi. Later, Audrey and Zoe's competitions include "Vs." screens reminiscent of arcade fighting games. The third story of "Can't Harvey Wait" is a wholesale Sailor Moon parody with Lotta as the title character, Lucretia as Luna, and Frufru as Queen Beryl. In "Hover, May I Board With Danger", Stu dresses up as Criss Angel in his Mindfreak attire. A part of the Mindfreak song can even be heard during it. In the Horn-a-Con story arc consisting of "Jet Fretters" and "Now It's Con", one of the Horn-A-Corns introduced resembles Baby Huey, another Harvey Comics character, and another one is outright called "Spirito the Crossovery", who is depicted as Spirit (another DreamWorks character) with a horn. At the end of "Scare Bud" (the episode featuring Casper the Friendly Ghost), Hot Stuff the Little Devil makes a cameo as a hot sauce mascot. "Harvey Endings" has Baby Huey cameo in the sewers (like It). Wendy the witch is also mentioned in this episode. Richie Rich was apparently business partners with The Boss Baby when he was younger.

Fire-Breathing Diner: In Lucretia's fantasy sequence at the beginning of "Clinging in the Rain", the Harvey Girls are stuck under a giant taco. Audrey's obvious solution is to eat their way out, but it's so spicy that her tongue catches fire and turns to ash.
