The Masks We Wear is an Avatar: The Last Airbender fanfic by NiceThorn.In Ba Sing Se, Prince Zuko discovers that his uncle and the Order of the White Lotus intend for him to help the Avatar restore the balance of the world, and as Fire Lord 'redeem' the Fire Nation. However, he sees this as a profound betrayal not only of his nation, as this would require the death of the Fire Lord, his father, and his sister, the other potential heir.
