Over time, she learns to take pride in being Cirucci's servant and gains emotional strength in doing so. Gantenbainne, Dordonni, and Aisslinger entered into the Exequias contest due to the shame their exile brought them and their desire to reclaim their pride and status.

In the update after, she confronts Luppi to ascertain his part in Nemo's capture, whereupon he intentionally yanks her chain as hard and as often as he can in an effort to provoke her, an effort she has to bitterly ignore to save Nemo. When she finally arrives at the Exequias contest with newly gained power and allies to help her, she realises that Aizen knew all along what she was going to do and subdues her with his god-like spiritual pressure. Her only hope then becomes to defeat Nnoitora Gilga in a duel, something that no one - not even herself - thinks she can do. Against all odds and with moral support from Nemo she succeeds, and it finally seems like this troubled chapter in her life is over, but unfortunately it's not. She goes to Szayelaporro's laboratory to be studied, which in itself isn't too bad as her rank and Aizen's word gives her protection, but then she sees what Szayel did to Yammy and weeps in guilt at what she's done.
