After the previous scene, we have Siegwald and Lieselotte reminiscing the day's events. The beginning of Episode 2 added scenes of Endo walking to and from Kobayashi's house to continue with the commentating. It contains two things that count as foreshadowing: Endo passes by a group of teens practicing baseball on an Artificial Riverbank in the morning and sees news about the Koshien on his smartphone as he returns, as well as bumping into Kobayashi's older sister Chiyono at the entrance of the Kobayashi residence. When Chapter 10 of the manga adapts Chapter 5A of the novels, it greatly expands upon the backstory of Elizabeth and August. The anime mostly followed the novels when that part was animated as the first part of Episode 5, however a brief scene of Elizabeth Fast-Roping down her room and then entering August's from the balcony was added for Adaptation Expansion. While Siegwald and Lieselotte were certainly going to marry anyway, only the anime has a scene of their wedding at the end.
