Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_mobile_ad_1'); })The Interloper: Home Couldn't Be Farther is a Science Fantasy Web Serial Novel published on Wattpad. It is framed as if written by an ambiguous narrator called "the Narrator", who also happens to speak in the mind of The Protagonist.Scott Nowak awakes in a world other than his own, growing more and more disillusioned as he realizes that the World of Weirdness he arrived in is not a dream, but rather a work of fiction. He spends the rest of the story traveling near and far to find a way home, by science, magic, or otherwise.Between the parts of the main story, there are shorter chapters, titled in all caps, that give (often ambiguous) Exposition about the world it takes place in which would otherwise go unknown, ranging from small snippets of lore to entire character backstories. The Narrator is implied to disapprove of these chapters’ inclusion.Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_mobile_ad_2'); })The main setting of the story (between the various story arcs) is Coniston, a stateless society bordering a traditional magical republic and a fascist robotic ethno-state. In this Land of One City, and by extension the world it takes place in, things like ghosts, magic, sentient robots, and various fantasy creatures are commonplace. This isn’t helped by the fact that, in this world’s lore, humans have superpowers and are considered “magical creatures”, and people spontaneously appearing from other universes aren’t unheard of either (see: Scott), and are called interlopers.

Fictional United Nations: The O.P.P.O., or the Organization for Peace, Prosperity, and Order (usually just called "the Organization") is pretty clearly based on a more powerful and malevolent version of the United Nations. It even has its own version of the UN Security Council, the ISC (International Security Council), of which most countries on the planet are implied to be members.

Breaking the Fourth Wall: Scott (and often the Narrator) does this frequently, from rolling his eyes at clichés, trying to predict what will happen next based on the genre, and even directly addressing the audience that he's been told is there.

Sufficiently Analyzed Magic
The Interloper: Home Couldn't Be Farther / int_41d8a845 | comment |
Sufficiently Analyzed Magic: Magic (and magic particles, as they're called) is mentioned to be generated from the expansion of space itself, just another type of subatomic particle. It's such a fundamental part of science in this world that when Abigail analyzes Scott (who is from a world without magic), she's confused as to how his species evolved to be an intelligent being without the influence of magic.

A.I. Is a Crapshoot: The Autonomous State is the epitome of this. Not only does this place's existence imply that the robots there violently rebelled against their creators, but they're also a nationalist hivemind ethno-state that calls their leader "leader".

Executive Meddling: In-Universe. A fictitious company, "LARRY-BRAND ENTERTAINMENT", which the readers are led to believe transmitted the story from the original author, the Narrator, into the IRL author's mind, making the author think they made up the idea, is a business which transmits media between universes using the aforementioned methodology. This fictitious company is also implied to have input their own chapters into the story to expose more of the world's lore, as well as has their own story-description and Thanking the Viewer chapter at the end (all of which the Narrator clearly doesn't approve of).
