Toys "R" Us is a pretty well-known toy store chain, with one of its most noticeable aspects being its catchy name. As such, quite a things in media like shops and companies use a name like "x "R" Us", or sometimes "x "B" Us". Randomly Reversed Letters in the logo are optional. At one time, the trope was in danger of becoming a Forgotten Trope, since Toys "R" Us ceased operation in the United States late in The New '10s. Canada, Asia, and Oceania still have their stores and are still going strong, and the brand name's franchising and licensing deals (in Asia, the brand's franchiser bought the exclusive rights to the brand in the region). It was saved when Toys R Us started reopening stores in the US under new management in late 2021. Call this trope "Phonies R Us". A Sub-Trope of Bland-Name Product. The store with the name scheme can be a Severely Specialized Store. |
