Five Nights at Treasure Island is a fan-made game based on Five Nights at Freddy's created by Matthew Phoenix Rodriguez and developed by Radiance, set in the Treasure Island Resort which inspired Abandoned by Disney. You are Jake, an intern for a foundation known as the Supernatural Studies Association, and you're assigned to watch Treasure Island at night per the agreement. According to the Five Nights At Treasure Island Wiki, "Jake was hired as an intern to collect data from the location, before a research team brings over more supplies from Alabama to investigate the attraction. Two people will leave voicemails providing information on how to pass through all the nights."However, the costumes at the location are somehow alive and mobile, and will attempt to harm Jake if they encounter him ... Using this knowledge given to him from the Phone Callers, Jake must survive against Photo-Negative Mickey, Donald Duck, Goofy, and several other hostile costumes, from 12:00 midnight to 6:00 a.m."Matthew Phoenix Rodriguez left the project in June 2015, unable to continue working on it with his schedule, but the Purity Sinners — the voice actors up to that point — had taken on the task of finishing the game. Alas, they could not keep the game out of Development Hell either, and due to personal matters with Purity Sin and drama surrounding the game — culminating in getting chewed out by Slimebeast himself — it was eventually cancelled. However, over the course of time, the project was revived and completed by multiple fans, the most popular of which is one released in September 2016 by a user named — funnily enough — Photo_Negative_Mickey (now known as Malrat). You can play the reboot here. For a while, the game was even officially being revived, with Matthew Phoenix Rodriguez back in the helm, saying that he will make the remake faithful, but polished. This did not come to fruition, as the engine he used corrupted the game file, forcing him to cancel it. Eventually, however, a new team would come along known as Radiance, and with them, a full version of the game would finally see the light of day.In 2020, the final version of the game was released, known simply in-game as Treasure Island. It included a bit of everything from previous versions, as well as a mode allowing you to play the first ever version in full for the first time, and a custom night featuring several exclusive characters. It even received approval from Rodriguez and Slimebeast. It can be downloaded here.On Halloween of 2023, A remaster of the final version was announced. It's page is listed here. The game also now has a sequel, Oblitus Casa.

Darker and Edgier: Over the course of 1.0 (2014) to 6.0 (2020), plus Oblitus Casa, the game's foundation gradually gets more and more disturbing, with a plot that becomes increasingly dark and tragic as it's progressively set up. 6.0 reaches a peak, reaching a maximum sense of hopelessness and insanity, to the degree that the atmosphere itself strikes a pure sense of caution within the player.

No OSHA Compliance: Averted — Disney is ALL about OSHA compliance, given their need for a family-friendly image and to maintain young blood. This naturally led to the Treasure Island resort getting abandoned, and a paranormal investigation firm squatting on the ruins.

Alternate Continuity | |
Five Nights at Treasure Island (Video Game) / int_450c5a85 | comment |
Alternate Continuity: There are several obvious differences between the continuity of this game and Slimebeast's creepypasta stories. There are no other characters in the stories that copy the likeness of Mickey Mouse characters besides Photo-Negative Mickey himself. If anything, the game would be more lore-accurate if Mascot Photo-Negative Mickey from the Custom Night in the 2020 game was the only enemy present, as it fits with the actual lore of the series. Photo-Negative Mickey in the original version is not just a 3D default Mickey Mouse, and is more like a Disneyland mascot. The main antagonist of the first game is more like a default Mickey Mouse. The characters in the original lore are not established as being dead employees possessing suits or the physical manifestation of the public's desires known as Corruptus, in which Corrupti serve their own continuity. Suicide Mouse is completely irrelevant to the Abandoned by Disney lore, yet he is included amongst the other characters who also shouldn't be present. There is no such thing as a non-corporeal being controlling everything in the original stories. GOD/UO/MOTHER, who plays this role, has no relevance to how the mascots came to be in Slimebeast's stories because she does not exist in them.

On Night 3, the phone rings, and someone new answers: "My name is Henry," your predecessor and the intern that vanished. He wants to tell you the truth in person, at the Pirate Caverns, but the phone goes dead. He tries again on Night 6, so he can warn of the threat posed by Hourglass, and tells you the code to help unlock the truth of what’s going on.

Five Nights at Treasure Island (Video Game) / int_4f4372e9 | comment |
Early-Installment Weirdness: Before 6.0, the character designs were largely simplistic (Photo-Negative Mickey was just an official Mickey model color inverted), the color of the environment was much too bright, the ambience was stock, and the game was made in cheap RPG studio, which also caused the cameras to pan at the same time as the office. By the final version, everything is much darker, the sounds are original, and the designs are custom-made, giving it a more professional image than the previous versions of the game.

Hell Is That Noise: Everybody has a really loud Jump Scare. Even Goofy, who doesn't even have a head. When Oswald moves around, you hear a dark mumbling. HIS mumbling. Same with everybody else, except louder and a little chattier. Mortimer has a little song that plays when he's on the prowl. It's apparently the same song (scream and all) played in the Lost Episode about him. If Donald is in your office, he'll emit loud quacking noises that sound like bad radio reception. Undying moans and groans in pain inside his suit constantly, which would almost make you feel bad for him, if he wasn’t trying to kill you.

Big Bad: Photo-Negative Mickey is the main antagonist, being easily the most iconic threat (in-universe and out) that the human characters are all too familiar with, the only one that comes after you from the very first night onwards and the only one that Greg mentions by name and warns you about from the very beginning, all of which imply that Mickey's threat level is the highest (at least lore-wise). In Night 6, he becomes Hourglass, a One-Winged Angel Fusion Dance between him and the other Toons (except Face and Undying, who have both disappeared). Hourglass still asks if you wish to see his head come off, indicating that he has the mind and spirit of Photo-Negative Mickey.

By the Lights of Their Eyes: In the reboot, turning off the lights shows the eyes of hostile suits as white circles in the darkness, even for suits that seemingly have no eyes. One thing to note: The game does enjoy messing with the player by showing eyes where isn't actually anythimg there, including a rare chance of making it look like you're completely surrounded.

Tulpa: The toons are basically this, as revealed when the player finds the vault containing the animation studio at the end of the first game, as they are a group of hostile Corruptus, a Nigh-Invulnerable manifestation of the public's negative desires, which is supposed to match with the lore of the original Abandoned by Disney. MOTHER being their leader is seemingly a role she took on herself, the ones actually leading the toons being the public itself.

No Ending: Ultimately, in the final version, while Jake does find evidence for the reason the toons exist in the first place, it does not explain why they're attacking people or why MOTHER believes that she should protect the toons from visitors in the first place.
