Adaptation Expansion: And how! There are numerous largely comedic dialogue cutscenes before and after every battle, which help to develop all the characters. In "South", Boyfriend decides to learn the Spooky Dance from Skid and Pump, and does it throughout the whole song. One of the most notable examples so far is "Blammed", which adds a brand-new game mechanic in which Pico will try to occasionally shoot Boyfriend (the bullet being represented as a caution sign acting in the same way as a direction arrow), which Boyfriend must avoid. "High" and "M.I.L.F." take it even further. In "High", there are now incoming streetlights that Boyfriend must dodge or else he'll get balled instantly, and in "M.I.L.F", Mommy Mearest attempts to zap Boyfriend throughout the whole song, which Boyfriend must also avoid. Boyfriend also dances like the Henchmen, which are referred to here as "imps". In "Winter Horrorland", the decoration on the Christmas tree that resembled Girlfriend's head is replaced with the actual Girlfriend's head, having been cut off by Monster. Monster also drains Boyfriend's health during his turns via usage of gas. The Week 5 update also adds an original level where Boyfriend serenades Girlfriend while on a date at the park. They even get new clothes for it. Another update adds a week where Boyfriend ends up in Green Hill Zone and faces Sonic the Hedgehog. | |

Mythology Gag: A lot for Sonic's week; In the second and third songs, Boyfriend's miss animation will have him trip and lose rings, much like Sonic whenever he takes damage with at least one ring in his games. Similarly, if Boyfriend loses in those two songs, instead of getting blueballed, he will face the camera, stretch out his arms and legs, and fall off the screen. Which is Sonic's death animation in the classic 2D games. Same thing happens to Sonic if you lose as him in "Happy Time". Cream, Knuckles, Amy, Tails, Big, Rouge and Shadow can be seen in the background of the first song, while Eggman mans a DJ table in place of Girlfriend. Several of Sonic's poses throughout the first song are taken from well-known renders of him, most notably his famous pose from the cover of Sonic Adventure. Sonic's voice clips and soundfont are sampled from Drummond's take on the character from the Adventure games, though with the infamous "WOO!" clip by Jason Griffith (from Sonic Unleashed) for good measure. The three main songs are remixes of Green Hill Zone from Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic Boom from Sonic CD and Super Sonic Racing from Sonic R.
