Funkin' at Freddy's is a Friday Night Funkin' Game Mod made by JcJack777 that centers around various Five Nights at Freddy's characters. The mod's main week focuses on William Afton — AKA the Purple Guy — who asks Boyfriend to sing with him as (surprise surprise) another ploy to add to his body count. Boyfriend isn't the only one receiving a bad ending, however...The mod can be downloaded on GameBanana here.Songs

The Overworld: After beating "Consequences" in the Night 2 update, a Five Nights at Freddy's World-styled overworld will be available for Boyfriend to traverse. From it, he can purchase things from Mendo, access the Flipside portals to go to new locations, or even simply fishing with Deedee. Secret songs can also be found around the overworld in hidden locations.

Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: In the upcoming Dayshift at Freddy's mini-week, Jack is understandably on edge about sneaking into the backrooms to get parts for Mendo and Boyfriend, considering he would most likely get in trouble for giving away parts for free. However, when Mendo mentions about having some cash on hand, he instantly agrees and heads off to get the parts, even before Mendo could negotiate a price with him.

comment
Mythology Gag: The main week and "Umbra" take place in the art style of FNAF 2 and 3's Atari minigames. "Umbra"'s visuals consists of RWQFSFASXC teleporting across the various minigames from FNaF 3's secret ending path. In addition, one of RWQFSFASXC's poses resembles Withered Bonnie, with most of its face missing aside from a lower jaw and some pinprick red eyes. "Just a Theory": The code used to unlock the song is the same one that infamously had to be input into a wall in Five Nights at Freddy's 3 to access one of the secret minigames. The song frequently uses a Leitmotif of Science Blaster, the song used as the intro for Game Theory. MatPat's idle animation has him doing the infamous thinking face from the photo he uses to represent himself in videos. MatPat's left and up poses have him gain a cartoony expression (surprised and smug respectively), which is often done in Game Theory videos to emphasize a reaction. The ability to pause is disabled during "Fourth Wall", as the character Animdude takes his appearance from is from a game literally called "There Is No PAUSE Button". The instrumental backing of the song is a direct remix of the music from the fight against Animdude in FNaF World. During a brief moment near the end, Animdude produces a phone, referencing the Phone Guy, whose voice actor Animdude acts as the avatar of. The positioning of Boyfriend and Animdude brings to mind the main combat screen of FNaF World, with the players on the right, and the enemy on the left.

Bilingual Bonus: "Canae" is the Latin word for "of the dog" (a genitive singular variant, according to the song's composer), fittingly linking to how Afton baited one of his victims to their demise; the little girl who lost her dog to a car accident.

Easter Egg: Most of the bonus songs require an unusual unlock method for the original build. To unlock "Umbra", you have to click on the Shadow Bonnie plush seen in "Nightmare". To unlock "Just a Theory", you have to type the code "395248" in the main menu. To unlock "Fourth Wall", you have to beat every other song in the mod, save for "Umbra", "Consequences", or "Fazbars". Unlocking "Fazbars" is an especially grueling task, as you have to click on William Afton on the main menu a grand total of 1987 times.

The Last Of These Is Not Like The Others: MatPat isn't a character native to the FNAF franchise, instead being a YouTuber famous for his FNAF content. In V2, the Dayshift at Freddy's world also counts, as it hails from a separate fanwork related to the franchise, not one of the official games like most of the other songs.

Stylistic Suck: "Fazbars" is a joke song meant to emulate a poorly-made Friday Night Maker song. The opponent, Fred Fazbars, is an improperly-sized official PNG of Freddy, the background is a jarring real-world photo, and the song takes 51 seconds to even start, at which point the player is greeted with offbeat, off-key, grating vocals and a truly abysmal chart.

Sanity Slippage: Over the course of the remade "Just a Theory", MatPat gradually undergoes this while trying to work things out, gradually getting impatient and manic with the overload of info BF is giving him. Art Shift: Every song, save for "Salvage" and "Nightmare", has a different art style from base FNF. The main week of the mod and "Umbra" use the art style of the Atari minigames from FNAF 2 and 3 respectively. While most of "Just a Theory" is in the base style, a few sections of it take on a similar appearance to a classic NES game. Boyfriend's sprites, in particular, are like those from Super Mario Bros. Funk Mix, but without any colour limitations. This is changed for the Night 2 update. "Fourth Wall" is entirely in 3D and from a diagonal perspective. "Fazbars" uses a realistic PNG of Freddy as the opponent and a photoshopped real-world picture for the background, though Boyfriend remains in his usual appearance. "Consequences" is in an Atari style similar to the main week, but colored entirely red to look like the 4th level of the Glitch World.

Demoted to Extra: Girlfriend doesn't appear in any of the mod's songs except for "Just a Theory" (but in the case of the remake, she's only represented by a cutout on the sofa due to the story flow of the Night 2 update). Justified in that Mendo accompanies Boyfriend instead following Night 1 until he can find her again. In "Canae", Girlfriend appears as a corpse in the arcade machine, though it's currently ambiguous as to whether or not she's really been killed, or if it's a ploy done by Afton to try and make Boyfriend give up and accept death. The implications of the approach are still unpleasant, either way.
