Jehtt has a very low opinion on NFTs, and the videos where they take potshots at them often feature a gullible or otherwise stupid character falling for them — the joke being that they're just that obvious a scam: In "This is Eggman's crypto mine" Tails introduced said mine as being able to provide energy to all of Station Square… or to mint a single NFT per day. And when Knuckles admits that he bought a NFT of the Master Emerald (from a guy called "eggtherium.eth", no less), both Sonic and Tails call him out for falling for such an obvious scam. In "You must kill Sonic", after Mephiles the Dark finds out how Super Gullible Silver is, he attempts to have him invest in NFTs. The same video also mocks the plot point from Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) where Silver takes Mephiles' words at face value despite him being Obviously Evil and only using the bare minimum of evidence (which even Mephiles himself is in disbelief about in this video), with the NFT joke at the end just being used to cap off how much of an utter sap Silver has to be. This video has its dialogue for Shadow be taken from some real-life tweets expressing a Silly Rabbit, Idealism Is for Kids! message, typos included: "Kill 'em all" is an overt middle finger to the infamous Fetch Quest-based nature of Shadow the Hedgehog, with it showing Shadow (and by extension, the player) being displeased towards the idea of having to scour an entire level back-and-forth to kill every last GUN soldier or Black Arms monster. This is just regarding the first level of the game, if we need remind you. "That's a hot take" mocks invokedTwitter / X for being a place that thrives on stoking people's negative emotions, with "being as inflammatory as possible" being the path to gaining attention rather than any genuine qualities. When Vector suggests that they follow Shadow's example and continue to troll people for attention, Espio remarks that he would rather get evicted. "How Sonic X Should Have Ended" takes a potshot at Chris Thorndyke and his relationship with Sonic — unlike the original anime, it portrays Chris' grief towards Sonic returning to his home world as full-on invokedWangst, and Sonic's response is to bluntly tell Chris to get over it and continue walking away. Roll credits. Overwatch 2 towards the current state of Overwatch and its Rewards Pass system. Eggman takes over the United States's healthcare system with the intent of worsening it to spread suffering. Or at least he tries to, as Shadow points out things about the system that are already worse than what Eggman intended to implement (such as how residency programs and thus the number of doctors available are limited by Congress's budget, or the massive price for insulin), leaving the good doctor with a mix of horror and bewilderment. "Eggman's AI Generated Daughter" briefly takes a shot at AI-generated art — which many view as a scam like the above-mentioned NFTs — by having Eggman remark that Sage's hands are correct.note For the uninitiated, a common identifier of AI art is that hands are almost always rendered with obvious anatomical errors. Many a human artist will admit that drawing hands is a difficult task with very few quick and easy solutions, so many find it ludicrous to claim that a computer program trained to replicate human-made art could do any better. Arguably, the video in general could be viewed as a potshot towards those who treat ChatGPT as an intelligent, widely-applicable program rather than just an AI language model to toy around with — considering how, following its implementation into some search engines or online programs, there have been numerous real-world reports of the program giving out incomplete or outright false information to its users. "I'm Sonic, I hate cops" is a little over a minute's worth of Sonic rattling off the numerous ways police in the United States can commit horrible acts and get away with them: "They needed more time to cook" has Sonic point out the invokedreuse of old assets, distracting pop-in, and numerous bugs and glitches in Sonic Frontiers. Sage doesn't want to hear it. "Let's see if my Tweet is popping off" mocks how Twitter / X has become increasingly plagued by spammer bots (represented through Shadow Androids in the video, followed by what at first looks like Sonic himself), with Shadow outright saying "Damn you, Musk," at the end of the video. | |
