A Father to His Men: Horemheb is this to his men. Pa-Ramses outright calls him his, which Horemheb actually chides him on, saying it was disrespectful to his biological father, Seti, who was a good friend of his.

Ramses / int_3a88a563 | comment |
Vocal Dissonance: So much in the English dub. Despite taking place in early Iron Age Africa and Middle East, many characters speak with European accents. The High Priest of Amun noticeably speaks in a very thick Scottish accent. Addition, Seti I sounds like an adult despite being fairly young.

Artistic License – History
Ramses / int_56515a39 | comment |
Artistic License – History: Ramses is depicted as Horemheb's son-in-law, married to a fictional daughter, rather than his vizier. This would mean the 18th dynasty would have extended to Twosret. Ovid is mentioned by one of the characters, despite the film taking place over a thousand years before he was born. Horemheb is depicted reigning at least 30 years. In real life, he reigned 27 to only 14.

Good Shepherd: The Egyptian clergy is portrayed this way. The High Preist notably unable to be bought by Bey, despite his attemps at bribing him, and an oracle of Hathor is a good friend of Horeheb. The only possible exception are the preist over seeing the mummification where the villain meet to discuss their plan, and even then they may have been unaware since they hid in the back away from them.

Magic Realism | |
Ramses / int_e6ab61d | comment |
Magic Realism: For the most part, the film is a Historical Fiction and political thriller mostly grounded in reality, except a scene in the begining, where a Hittite soldier kills a falcon, which falls to the ground dead. It then comes back, with its eyes glowing, and flies back to the Egyptian army. It's heavily implied to be Horus in animal form.
