Warning: Unmarked Undertale Spoilers below.Ask Frisk And Company is a fan-webcomic based on Undertale, taking place after the True Pacifist ending. It is run by the staff of The Good Trash Kingdom; the three most-seen mods go by Trash Queen, Canon Keeper and Clutter Commander.In-universe, the blog was created by Frisk to answer any questions humans might have about monsters; however, after the divide between the void and AFAC's reality was weakened, the characters began to hear the asks directly. The comic is now on its sixth story arc.The official dubs of the comics can be found here, although there are unofficial dubs scattered over YouTube.

All There in the Manual: Commonly, asks about the world's lore are answered by the mods directly. Between seasons 1 and 2 of the dub, a "50 Things You Didn't Know About AFAC" video was released. Some facts relate to lore while others relate to production. (For obvious reasons, none of the facts refer to anything after Season 1 except for vague hints.)

Title Drop: Maverick does this in the "Extra Dark Chocolate" arc when asked what Chara's favorite kind of chocolate is. Rather commonly, episodes of the dub take their titles from lines in the episode — examples include "MASTER OF ROMANCE" (S1E4), "SEXY BURGER DREAMS" (S2E1), and "TACTICAL SANS INCOMING" (S3E2). It Makes Sense in Context sometimes crops up with these titles.

Gone Horribly Wrong: After Aidrian’s death in the bad future, Gaster and Frisk attempt to revive her using Determination. With Aidrian’s soul no longer in it, the experiment succeeds only in turning the body into what is essentially a human amalgamate that would absorb all other living beings it touches, playing a big role in why the future got so bad.

That video Frisk recorded of Sans doing his rainbow dance in the Red Echoes arc, which was uploaded to YouTube as of the Sweet Dreams and Nice Creams arc, was used by the askers in the Extra Dark Chocolate Arc to manipulate Aidrian and Jason into discovering that Frisk is alive.

Wham Line: From the Red Echoes arc, when the River Person refuses to kill Chara!Sans: Frisk, after giving a fairly accurate description of Aidrian: Maverick, who we only know as an adult Asriel with his intentions for coming to the AFAC!Verse previously unknown to us, after he was just given information about Aidrian and Jason being attacked and their location by an asker. It's a wham line because it reveals his intentions for coming to the AFAC!Verse. As if Paolo's first on-screen appearance isn't enough of a Wham Shot, a peek at their inventory reveals something very interesting. An odd mixture of this and Wham Shot due to how it's presented: Callallied speaking in red text. Followed shortly by them ranting about white chocolate. After Frisk summarizes their reasons for entering Mt. Ebott once more, Janet (having overheard them) reveals Frisk's birthname in her shocked response. Coming right on the heels of a hilarious moment in which Papyrus gets involved with a Monster Wrestling event by making a grand entrance into the ring as a luchador-esque masked fighter with sans, Hermann, and GASTER as a mariachi hype crew, after unmasking, he declares just what he's doing there...

The River Person after her reveal as Hermann having her hood pulled back to reveal nothing. Frisk leaping to protect Callallied and summoning a magic barrier. Paolo emerging from the blackness beside Chara. Chara possesses their alternate universe counterpart from Ask Drunk Chara. When Chara "attacks" Flowey while possessing Drunk Chara, sharp-eyed readers will notice that Flowey's face becomes rather goat-like. The very next update reveals that Chara unwittingly held Asriel's soul the whole time, and them hugging Flowey begun the process of returning it completely. When we see Undyne's latest attempt to get Asgore to reinstate the Royal Guard, we're treated to a panel showing SEVERAL burning monster effigies, as the first real evidence shown as to just how much hate monsters and particularly Monster Town are drawing. Emphasized by the ending text; usually it says "If you like (insert thing relevant to comic update here) please consider supporting our Patreon." But on the comic in question, it says "There's nothing to like about any of this."

I Was Having Such a Nice Dream: After Sans is woken up from his "Sexy burger dream" by the askers in "Sweet Dreams and Nice Creams", he laments about how it was the first non-terrible dream he's had since elementary school, and notes that the possibility of Toriel kissing him in real life are slim in comparison.

Papyrus and Mettaton never interact in Undertale, although the former is a fan of the latter. While Papyrus does call Mettaton his "favorite sexy rectangle", Papyrus's admiration for Mettaton was still a Celeb Crush at most. In Ask Frisk and Company, they'd known each other for a while before they developed mutual crushes. Papyrus asks out Mettaton in Extra Dark Chocolate, and they start dating in Dance Dance Education.

The Unreveal: In Red Echoes, River Person says that the Red Echo Flower myth was made by Gaster. As of right now, we still don't know why he did it. Word of God subverted this in the "50 Things You Didn't Know About AFAC" video. Gaster started the myth by accident while dating Hermann. While the rest of the cast is helping to exorcise Chara from another Chara, Maverick is told by an asker about Chara having dug up a body from the underground, possibly more than one. Maverick immediately realizes what Chara's plan is, but doesn't provide any details.

Spanner in the Works: Gaster's ability to teleport people is what gets the rest of the group there in time to save Frisk and Monster Kid from Chara!Sans. The askers also do this sometimes, such as by encouraging Sans to fight back against Chara, informing Maverick of Aidrian and Jason's location (allowing him to intervene against Garamond). Maverick also indicates that the most significant difference between his world and AFAC (aside from the apocalypse) is the presence of askers.

Driven to Suicide: A couple of the askers theorize this about W.D. Gaster's fall into the CORE. It's implied that they are right. Frisk aborted the Genocide Run by killing themselves before landing the final blow on Sans. Appears to be the case with Chara. After ADC!Frisk's intervention, Chara proclaimed that they just wanted to disappear. This resulted in them letting go of everything, including Asriel's soul, and proceeding to sink into the ocean of their own mindscape. The only reason they haven't kicked the bucket yet is because Asriel is desperately trying to keep the unconscious kid's head above water.

Extreme Omnisexual: Frisk. They flirted with Toriel (after calling her "Mom") and based on their comments, several other monsters. They even flirt with MWSIH!Frisk. The fact that Frisk enters a romantic relationship with Monster Kid in Red Echoes doesn't stop them. They do refuse to flirt with someone at a later point because Kid is there and doing so would be rude, but it's not clear whether Frisk would have flirted if Kid wasn't there or not.

Alternate Universe: A decent amount of the blog is this. Definitely going to be used more in the future now that there is a hole in reality behind the couch. This is pretty much entirely the plotline of the Sweet Dreams and Nice Creams arc, minus the fiasco with Jason and Aidrian. It also appears to be invoked with Maverick Chaosdragon. Word of God clears that he is from a similar but different dimension, and discussions with Maverick himself back at the main cast's house confirms that the difference is a lack of asker influence.

Promoted to Love Interest: Several characters who weren't dating in Undertale are paired together in Ask Frisk and Company: Sans and Toriel were just good friends in Undertale, with Toby Fox stating that Sans is too lazy to be in a relationship. In Ask Frisk and Company, they're mutually crushing and both are hesitant to admit their feelings to each other. They finally spit it out and start dating in Dance Dance Education Papyrus and Mettaton never interact in Undertale, although the former is a fan of the latter.

Foreshadowing: One of the first questions on the blog is about what it's like living with Flowey. Frisk responds with "I think there's more of Asriel in him than he pretends there is." As it turns out, they're not wrong. In Gaster's flashback, his wife Hermann at one point says "Tra la la," the Verbal Tic of the River Person. Asriel's soul can be spotted inside of Chara's in a select few panels if you look closely. Maverick also drops a hint related to his soul as well with his flash drive. There were a surprising amount of clues that Callallied is actually Chara; it's just that few, if anyone, thought of the possibility and put the clues together until after The Reveal. Callallied's submission details a backstory that matches Chara's exactly, and describes how they want to get close to Frisk to prove that humanity is bad; they are apprehensive when they realize Maverick is nearby; Chara dug up a body and knitted clothes; and more. Word of God and later on in the comic proper, Alphys discuss something called the "Metamorphosis Theory" where Humans become Monsters by possessing then later bonding to objects, similar to ghost monsters like Mettaton in Undertale canon. Guess what ultimately happens to Chara.

Ask Frisk and Company (Webcomic) / int_acf33d00 | comment |
Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Frisk was originally very timid and shy because of their "Parents". Frisk was easy to coerce into letting them take full control of their body. That was, at least, until Sans came into the picture and unleashed his wrath. His resolve to keep fighting Chara, despite the hopeless odds, showed Frisk they can still keep fighting. So Frisk took a level in offscreen character development and became the child of determination they are now.

Turns out to be a subversion, she's since regained her soul but didn't realize it until Flowey points out how much she clearly cares for Gaster, something she would be unable to do if truly soulless. Flowey is starting to subvert this too with the reveal that his own soul is growing back. Though it wasn't actually regrowing; a small bit of it was unknowingly stolen back from Chara. A version that has played this trope straight is the alternate Lucida, and that's only because she was recently resurrected and had very little screentime. Though, it's pretty obvious that she'll end up following this pattern of subversion via re-growing of the soul.

Get A Hold Of Yourself Man: One asker used the Exact Words Flowey used when he was pissed that Hermann didn't even realize she has her soul back against him, anticipating that Flowey would be in denial after it was discovered that a bit of Asriel's soul still remains in Flowey. Flowey stated how soulless creatures can only feel basic survival instinct and the satisfaction of beating someone at Smash Bros. Just as Flowey said it was "incredibly stupid" of Hermann to dive into a river of Piranhas to save Gaster, the asker pointed out how Goopster could've easily killed him if it weren't for Toriel shielding him from the blast, and the first idea he got was to attack the same guy who almost killed him not 5 minutes before in retaliation. What the Hell, Hero?: Hermann gives a scathing one to Gaster about his immoral experimentation and his neglect of Sans and Papyrus. The end result is Gaster sobbing on the floor at her feet. However, the askers turn this back on her soon after, claiming that the above speech wasn't necessary and correctly assuming that Gaster had actually jumped into the CORE to commit suicide.

Red Herring: When it's revealed that Flowey has gained a small bit of a soul in Sweet Dreams and Nice Creams, it's implied that it's a similar case to Hermann or MWSIH!Lucida, who had recently gone through/begun the process of regrowing a soul in just that way. Actually, Flowey regained that shard after Sans unwittingly shook it loose from Chara, who possessed Asriel's soul without knowing.

Decon-Recon Switch: One with only a small grace period too. It's Frisk's pacifism that undergoes this. Askers call Frisk out on not allowing Chara to be killed by Sans as it seemingly leads to Sans' death. The Reconstruction comes almost immediately as Monster Kid points out that Frisk is still a good person for staying true to their beliefs and the blame should belong to Chara. And then it's revealed that Sans was faking his death.

What Is Evil?: Chara calls the concept of good and evil meaningless labels that prove their point of how askers see the cast as characters and not people. However, Chara's need to continuously justify themselves and un-justify others could indicate something else. Deus Angst Machina: Chara's backstory, to an almost laughable degree. They apparently had a normal life until pirates raided their village, killed their parents right in front of them, and then kidnapped them — no, not modern pirates, cartoon buccaneer-style pirates, despite the story's modern setting. They were then held under their captivity under horrible conditions for a time until one night, every single crew member happened to pass out drunk, without even a single sober man to serve as lookout or steer the ship. Chara then decided to murder every single one of them in their sleep and managed to do so without waking any of them up or raising any alarms (it must have been really hard rum), conveniently just as the ship was about to drift to shore. They then wandered alone and homeless from New England to Mt. Ebbot, which in this interpretation is in western Canada, on foot, without a single person ever offering to help them. Ever. Across a distance of over 2,000 miles.

O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Averted. Papyrus, Undyne, and Alphys don't drop character when we next see them, even though they saw Toriel get impaled by a possessed Sans. This is actually clever because the fact that they didn't break character is an early indication that Toriel didn't die. Played straight later when Chara seemingly kills Sans. Doing so made Papyrus fly into a murderous rage. Also played straight when Flowey angrily starts attacking Goopster after his blast wounded Toriel. It's a major sign that he's regaining his soul. Played for Laughs in Storytime #9 where Sans cleans his room.

Ask Frisk and Company (Webcomic) / int_f36c4f98 | comment |
Easily Forgiven: Played With. Since Aidrian is Frisk's sister and Sans gets some level of vengeance, the main cast and askers let her assault on Papyrus slide. But Flowers, Braids, Twinkies, and Harlow do not. Played straight with Chara, despite all the harm they've caused up to and including attempted murder of several main cast members. This is especially egregious on Toriel (one of their attempted victims) and Asriel's part, as the justification basically comes down to "It's unfair to hold them responsible for all the bad things they've done but not hold Asriel responsible for everything he did while he was Flowey," despite the fact that their respective situations are in no way comparable.

Literal Genie: According to Gerson, the canon prophecy foretelling the Barrier's destruction was actually a sapient Winds of Destiny, Change! spell cast by the wizards who created the barrier in the first place. Being essentially an Eldritch Abomination with Blue-and-Orange Morality, it took its criteria fairly seriously and very literally. The Chosen One referred to in the prophecy is called "an angel" and "they". Gerson suspects that the wizards meant "a good person whose gender doesn't matter", but the prophecy took it as "an innocent child who would be properly referred to by the pronoun 'they'", which is why all the potential Chosen Ones were non-binary young children.
