Mega Man X DiVE (or Rockman X DiVE) is a formerly free-to-play 2D action-platformer made using the Unity engine by Capcom Taiwan for iOS and Android. A "global" release handled by NebulaJoy was released in July 2021, officially only available in the US and UK, but planned for other western territories. Another English-localized release, this time on PC via Steam, happened in September 2021, though this version is based on the Taiwanese original rather than the version handled by NBJ.Within Cyber Space there is a place called the "Deep Log", which contains the game data information and the memories of all players who have played the Mega Man X games. There is a Deep Log for each game and player in the world, and they have been stored and managed for decades by RiCO. However, there is a sudden surge of unknown errors which are causing Mavericks to appear as data corruptions. It is the job of the "Player" to repair the data and get rid of the errors in order to protect the Deep Log, using Hunter Programs to delete the Maverick Data. While the game began with solely Mega Man X characters, over time more and more interlopers from every other Mega Man subseries were added. The game's free-to-play online version would shut down on September 27, 2023. Subsequently, an offline version costing an upfront price was released on August 31, 2023; this version omits all online features and microtransactions such as Battle Mode, Co-op, Ranking, Guild, and Capsules, has a revised economy to balance out the removal of microtransactions and does not include Crossover content.

Hotter and Sexier: Not only do some characters like Aila and Cinnamon get rather fanservicey "White Day" costumes, but Layer actually has Jiggle Physics, as demonstrated at the start of her showcase video. All of the female characters get swimsuits as either skins or additional characters, note aside from Leviathan, whose default attire looks similar to one already, and every one of them except Roll (who is designed to look like a child) gets bouncier body parts as a result - mainly their chests, but also the backsides of a few of them. Iris -another- from the "Supreme Commander of Repliforce" event, a more mature version of Iris with Colonel's AI perfectly integrated into hers. What's notable is not only does she have a Fanservice Pack, but her Tareme Eyes have been changed to Tsurime Eyes, showing her as a more capable and proud Lady of War.

Exponential Potential: Hoo boy. Characters, Weapons, Skills, Chips and Cards all have a Star Rating, which increases their overall capabilities. Each character can increase the level of their special skills and each increase of their Star Rating has a chance to unlock one of their passive buffs. Weapons can be levelled up independently of each other, given buffs to their stats and have their own set of passives. Skills can be leveled up - with each new set of skills requiring all skills having a certain level total. Chips can also gain levels, as well as undergo analysis to make them more effective. Cards can gain levels to boost stats and use their star level to increase their effectiveness. Every buff done to Characters, Weapons or Cards increases their gallery percentage, which has a chance to increase your Gallery Level, which is an additional fixed buff, which is universally applied to all characters.

Artificial Human: Tron Bonne and Roll Casket are technically Carbons, though the Carbon term is only used by those that discriminate against them and they consider themselves to be human. "Carbons" were created by the "true" humans as mindless guinea pigs to test the earth, but ended up developing a society of their own and were declared humanity's successors and descendants by the last "true" human. Like the "true" humans of their time period, Carbons can easily integrate cybernetic parts into their biological bodies, or even wholesale replace their biological parts with mechanical parts and this isn't considered weird. Unlike the "true" humans, Carbons are not immortal and have a normal lifespan.

Mythology Gag
Mega Man X DiVE (Video Game) / int_26ac510e
comment
Mythology Gag: When selecting one of the males from the X or Zero series with a Melee weapon, they will cycle through three poses. Pose 1 is original, Pose 2 is the same as Zero's on the Japanese Sega Saturn boxart of X4, and Pose 3 is the same pose that X makes on the boxart of X6. What's more is that X can replicate the pose he originated using the Standard Saber and Zero as well with the same weapon. Bit's details prior to fighting him mention that he has a shield, but he usually leaves it behind due to its heavy weight. He can be shown holding said shield on the Equip Chip screen, making this the first time in the series, and during the Christmas event stage and the rematch, barring his Bandai Mega Armor model kit figure, Phoenix Magnion's illusions, or the opening of X5. Pumpkin Head Dark Man has vague memories of fighting a blue robot in a castle, when encountered during the Halloween 2020 event, referring to the four boss fights against the Dark Man line in Mega Man 5. Several weapons are based on other Robot Masters, Mavericks, and boss characters from the main games: Flame Mammoth: Burning Spray Gun Shade Man: Sonic Buster AquaMan.EXE: Snowy Spray Gun Tunnel Rhino: Drill Head Cannon Air Man: Air Buster Aqua Man (the Robot Master, not the NetNavi): Aqua Buster Crush Crawfish: Boomerang Blade ShadowMan.EXE: Muramasa Sword Man: Ancient Relic Dr. Weil: Scarlet Tyrant Shadow: Savage Tusk of Thunder Silver Horn: Heart of Gold Vile V: Electric Current Spray Gun Fefnir: Essence of the Abyss SparkMan.EXE: Glittering Spark Napalm Man: Napalm's Head Redips: Assault Equipment D-1000: Turbo Cannon Sigma: Crimson Scythe, Doom Blade, Extraordinary Mortar, Destroyer Terra Condor: Falcon Ballista Master Albert (Throne Form): The Monoclonius Omega: Singularity Slasher On the flipside, a few of these weapons are based on playable characters or returned from previously seen weaponries: X / Mega Man: Mega Buster (default weapon), Wind Pressure Buster, Sniper Buster, Arrow Buster, Shadow Blade Buster, Biochemical Buster First Armor X: Military Buster Ultimate Armor X: Gravitational Pulse Zero: Standard Saber, Beam Rapier Axl: Triangle Gun Zero (Z) / Aile: Triangular Saber Leviathan: Elite Lance Copy-X: Destructive Laser Rogue: Nightmare Green Dragon: Shooting Dragon Thunder Zerker: Berserker Great Sword Both the fights with Mega Scorpio and Goliath invoke Zero's most well-known scenes from X1. The Mega Scorpio battle ends with the boss blindsiding you, followed by ViA one-shotting it, complete with Zero's Leitmotif playing. In the Goliath fight, the first attempt at fighting him has Vile completely invulnerable, until ViA once again appears and blows himself up to knock out the barrier surrounding the Ride Armor. Unlike Zero, ViA survives this Heroic Sacrifice. Magma Dragoon's announcement video has him throwing a Hadouken at the camera, much like Ryu in the opening demo for Super Street Fighter II. This later became his character select animation. X in his three SNES-era armors all have his Character Select Screen animations end with him posing much like artwork for his games of orgin. First Armor has him pose like the North American boxart before getting into a second pose seen in art for him. Second Armor does the same after his Giga Crush. The Third Armor takes this up a notch by having him replicate the animation used in the FMV opening for the CD-Rom versions of X3 and then get into the pose seen on the North American boxart. The intro to the fight with Bass sees him make reference to three of his playable appearances, notably his aversion to Gosh Dang It to Heck! in Mega Man 7 in Shade Man's stage, his Sir Swears Alot portrayal in the Aeon Genesis Fan Translation for Mega Man & Bass, and lampshading the fact that ViA is an Identical Stranger to Zero, having seen Zero's blueprints in Wily's Castle during Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters, even calling ViA as being girlie-looking much like Zero. During the fight with him, Bass employs a rapid-fire Buster Shot much like his playable appearances in Mega Man & Bass and Mega Man 10, Charged Shots much like in Mega Man 7 and both arcade games, summoning Treble for a few attacks, and the use of Tengu Blade, Remote Mine, and Lightning Bolt, all using their corresponding palettes from Mega Man & Bass. Fourth Armor X is equipped with the Stock Charged Shot ability by default, to distinguish him from Ultimate Armor X (who has the Plasma Shot) and has the white arms with blue gloves as in X4. All of Bass.EXE's character select animations (for his various forms) are lifted from his appearances as an Assist Chip in some games. Especially notable in that it's also possible to recreate most of these animations yourself by jumping before using their associated skills, leaving Bass hovering in midair. Festive Leviathan is based more on Splash Woman than Fairy Leviathan. Her first special attack is called "Splash Laser" and her second summons a fish to attack enemies; Splash Woman uses the Laser Trident, and summons fish from the sides of the screen.

Easter Egg: A few can be found with at least four characters: First Armor X will throw a Hadouken on the CSS if the player watches his animation 5 times, backing out to see other CSS animations each time. Upon the 6th time, he will throw the Hadouken. Third Armor X does a similar take to this, but with a Tatsumaki Senpuukyaku instead, making reference to how the first two titles had a Street Fighter shotoclone move as the Secret Capsule while the third gave the Hyper Chip instead. If you beat a boss with Aile, you can quickly have her M.E.G.A. Merge and play her animation out while in Model ZX instead of as a human. Tron Bonne has two different victory animations depending on if she beats the boss with or without the Gustaff.

Trial-and-Error Gameplay

Trial-and-Error Gameplay: As per series tradition, though a combination of factors makes it more egregrious in this particular game. Many gameplay segments are scored based on how much HP you have left at the end of the stage. However, not only are enemies capable of simply spawning on top of you, but they can aim at you from off-screen and attack before they've even fully materialized. You can't aim at them until they're on-screen, and only through getting hit will you know where they'll spawn to shoot at manually. Several stages require you to find a certain number of objects within a time limit to finish above a certain rank. More often than not, each change in difficulty shuffles their locations, and you have a limited number of completions per day. The entire concept of Jakob's Tower, which are stages consisting of waves of enemies interspersed with rather tanky boss encounters. Many of these are designed with wildly fluctuating degrees of difficulty, and it only gets worse the higher you go. Worse, if you run out of time or die, you can't use that character again in ANY Tower stage until the next server reset. At least on the boss stages, the boss's health doesn't refill between tries.

Shotoclone: Magma Dragoon, both during the boss fight with him and while playing as him. His two Active Skills involve throwing Hadoukens and Shoryukens. Rising Fire X has shades of this with his Active Skills have him use Wave Flame, appearing as a fireball shot, and performing Shoryukens. Taken to its literal extreme with the inclusion of Ryu, the original whom all Shotoclones are derived from in some way. Same with Akuma. Dr. Light's playable debut is as one of this, wearing a gi like Ryu's, and his first ability is basically a combo attack first of his own "Budo Hadouken" followed up with him teleporting to the target to unleash a fearsome "Budo Senpukyaku".

Beef Gate: The Old Robot has an extraordinarily high defense rating that cancels all damage beneath a certain threshold, making it impossible to progress beyond chapter 19-3 in story mode without leveling. It stands out particularly so, since it's generally agreed that with the right loadout, it's possible to clear the story with a ~400K power deficit otherwise.

Lethal Joke Character: Servbot, natch. Although it's only one Mook in a squadron of 41 (and which one is unknown), it proves a force to be reckoned with thanks to its diminutive stature and ability to heal itself on command, a power possessed by few others. Bosses whose projectiles leave a low gap above the ground become a cake walk with this miniature machine, and combined with its increased jump height and shield capability, make dodging attacks like second nature.

Ascended Meme: This was done for Bit becoming playable for the Christmas Event, which references the manga adaptation of X3, where he gleefully and nearly executes X, while mockingly and creepily wishing him a Merry Christmas. After the fight with General during the "Supreme Commander of Repliforce" event, he commands Iris -another- that she has her data be studied by RiCO, so that she may join the Player, referring to how certain NPC characters and Bosses in the game became playable characters, starting with Copy-X, Omega, the Servbots, Magma Dragoon, and Colonel. In the global version, one of the promo codes for the Zero Vergil Trigger banner was "CHILDSUPPORT," referencing a meme that spawned from Vergil's treatment of his son Nero.

Boring, but Practical: Cinnamon has a fairly simple kit - a projectile (that does damage, inflicts a debuff (or does extra damage, depending on the chip used) and increases her stock of hearts when they hit an enemy), and an area of effect buff for attack (and defense in exchange for a heart). But at rank 2, you can add an additional effect to the second ability at the cost of two hearts per use to heal yourself and any nearby allies, with the healing bonus being usually about 15-20% of your HP. Considering sources of health are virtually nonexistent outside of certain events and the Arena, this is not insubstantial and can be a godsend, especially for players who aren't so good at avoiding damage. If you unlock the Protective Shield passive skill at rank 3, she can also gain a shield that will mitigate damage (if you have three hearts, but you'll only lose two hearts per use if you use the healing chip), which buys her even more time to stock up on hearts and heal while she's doing damage, and overall increases her survivability on higher difficulties and challenge stages. There's a reason why she's a S-Rank character, but thanks to the S-rank ticket that all new players get after logging in for a week straight and through certain events that only has her, First Armor X and Black Zero as part of the draw, there's a good chance you'll get her anyway. The Biochemical Buster is one of the few S-rank weapons you can get easily. It's also regarded as one of the best buster weapons, because it works simply but does its job well - all it does is fire large projectiles at a decent rate of fire that do damage, poisons targets for a bit, and if upgraded can split off into multiple scatter shots. And one of its hidden skills basically ensures that you barely have to wait at all for the buster to reload when you run out of ammunition. That's really about it, but it works well. Due to a lack of healing items found in the game, any kind of healing is very important for getting through the more difficult parts of the game without going into your supply of extra lives. Some hunters like the above mentioned Cinnamon have a heal or Life Drain baked into their kit, there is the Sub Tank skill which gives a one time 25% heal, and the Batton M-501 card when paired with a green card will automatically heal the player when they defeat an enemy (with a relatively minor cooldown before the effect can be activated again). The Shadow Armor was one of X's weaker kits back in Mega Man X6, but here it accomplishes this trope in spades because of how many simpler abilities it rolls up into the basic package, even though they're not as flashy as the other armors. First, it still sticks to walls & ceilings like in X6 and is immune to most forms of environmental hazards sans Bottomless Pits and Rangda-Bangda's spikes, allowing it to cruise through a lot of stages most characters would have to platform or play the waiting game around. Second, it has a Giga Attack that, while simpler than any of X's other techniques under that category, comes back very quickly and does comparable damage to the entire screen while also leaving behind a lingering Razor Wind field around X. Third, one of its first passive skills is to add a powerful projectile to swords, something that would normally require a chip to achieve. Fourth, its weaker charge shot compensates by being able to fire nine projectiles (three shots of three projectiles each) in rapid succession before reloading that ignore terrain and inflict a hefty Damage-Increasing Debuff to targets. All things considered, the Shadow Armor's very basic in appearance and execution, but it's one of the best if you need a job done quick.

Bittersweet Ending: Come Chapter 20, ViA and iCO have to be deleted to purge the "Robot Destroy Mode" code from the Deep Log and stop the source of its corruption. After a Final Boss battle with ViA -Square-, the player and RiCO can't commit themselves to actually doing the act — so the corrupted duo blow themselves up after some final encouragement and effectively save the Deep Log as a result. As RiCO's left to wallow in the aftermath, she realizes there's still so many lingering errors to fix, and if these historical bits of data can keep popping up, maybe ViA and iCO can too, so there's no point in being sad right now — you've still got a job to do.

All Your Powers Combined: The Next DiVE Armor is the series's first time X has access to one technique from (almost) every armor in the game. The default Giga Crush is a dimension-warping variant of the one used by the Second Armor. The Nova Strike returns from the Fourth and Ultimate Armors. The third Giga Crush is a pair of energy slashes, representing the Blade and Shadow Armors. X has a barrier that can be deployed with the armor, something that only the Third and Gaea Armors visibly demonstrate. The Stock and Plasma Charge Shots from the Fourth Armor are combined into one, which in turn fire solid laser beams resembling the Hermes Armor's charge shot. As with the DiVE armors for Zero and Axl along with X's previous model, the design is clearly intended for flight, bringing to mind the Falcon and Glide Armors.

Scratch Damage: Downplayed. This game is a rare instance in an action game where scratch damage against you isn't completely adhered to. If the Player has a huge enough gap between their defense rating and the enemy's attack, then there's a slim chance that the attack does 0 damage. But usually the Player will take a minimum of 1 damage.

Required Secondary Powers: The DiVE armors invoke this trope, as their new abilities also suppress any drawbacks attached to ones their users previously had. Iris is implied to be more powerful and independent without the need for Colonel (or the anguish caused by his absence, for that matter.) Axl continues to channel Lumine's remains, but is most definitely more himself than whatever White Axl is supposed to be. MegaMan.EXE can use Beast Out's weapons without going berserk, and can switch between Falzar and Gregar's arsenals at will. Adaptational Badass: In the Classic Series, Roll was a household robot who was never meant for combat: well, in this game she's given almost the same skills as her brother, and some of her moves are references to her appearance as playable character in Marvel vs. Capcom and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. This was followed up by Dr. Light going from a complete Non-Action Guy to drawing from the hints of him having history as a martial artist to make him a full-on Shotoclone Ansatsuken practictioner capable of using ki. Iris: In X4 she was a pacifist who constantly pleaded Zero and her brother Colonel not to fight, and later fought Zero using a Ride Armor-like body: well, in this game she's able to fight by herself on the same level as Zero without said Ride Armor-like body. In Mega Man Zero, Ciel was also a pacifist who tried to find non-violent solutions and never engaged in combat. Well, that's not the case here, as she can also fight on par with anyone else. In Mega Man ZX, Aile cannot fight at all in her human form, requiring the use of the Biometals to engage in combat. Like with Ciel, that's not the case, as her human form is more than capable of combat and even summons up giant versions of Models X and Z.

Animation Bump: Final Sigma W manages to get one during the Raid Boss against him. Originally, he was just a static pre-rendered sprite of Sigma's giant head on Gamma's body that would often become a wireframe. During the Raid Boss, he's a bit more animated, tilting his head to follow the player as they chip away at his health and chuckling at their meager attempts to fight him.

Adaptational Nice Guy: While a lot of villains appear as playable characters, most of them have the personalities from their original games and are more like Boxed Crooks than Adaptational Heroes. Halloween Sigma on the other hand, who is Sigma from before his corruption by the Maverick Virus, is very nice and leaves gifts (candy) for the player to collect. You also encounter pre-infection Sigma in Chapters 19 and 20, and in the second encounter in the Deep Log he's aware of his role in the story, but still spars with the Player to prepare them for what's to come.

Cap: Skills cap at a relatively low twenty-five to fifty. The cap of weapon, chip and card levels is always equal to the player's level, so you can't jack your new S-Rank weapon to Lvl. 140 while you're still at Lvl. 25. Likewise, increasing the levels of the character's unique attacks requires you to increase your overall level after a certain point to keep building them.

Difficulty by Region: The NebulaJoy global version was significantly more generous than the Taiwan version for resources and capsule pulls, having a tendency to offer up larger amounts of free items and special deals than the latter. The former also offered free 10-pulls for every new banner that comes up, while the latter emphatically does not. However, this came at the cost of NebulaJoy lagging behind the Taiwan servers in terms of content and having a desynced event schedule that occasionally led to some Christmas in July moments. The Offline version puts NebulaJoy to shame, due to giving enough Zenny to 5-Star at least two characters in the first World, almost every Eddie and achievement having at least some Element Metals and a ridiculously generous amount of enhancement materials due to removing entirely the lab.

Super Mode: Aile's gimmick; she starts out in her Humanoid form, but as long as her Biometal Gauge is even partially filled she can use one of her skills to transform into Model ZX, providing her with two new offensive skills and lasting until the meter runs out or she dies and revives. The other skill in her normal form restores some of the Biometal gauge at a tap, and the gauge naturally builds up over time. Rule of Symbolism: The final fight against ViA -square- uses a remix of the X vs. Zero theme from Mega Man X5. Though ViA isn't literally Zero and the player isn't literally X, they are effectively coming into the battle representing their stories and legacies. ViA, as part of the Robot Destroy Program and thus the Maverick Virus, is effectively a part of what made Zero the person he is in the games, and the player's adventures in the Deep Log are explicitly motivated by the memories of the X series and beyond, i.e. the story of Mega Man X and his impact on the world long after he leaves it. In short, it's a metafictional spin on the original duel from X5, a clash between the memories of X & Zero, and one last battle against the malice of Zero's original programming.

Shotguns Are Just Better: The Shotgun weapon is technically a Short-Range Shotgun, but the spread and the ability to extend the range substantially with just a single rank upgrade means chances are you're still going to hit something, and even a single pellet hitting per shot can do quite a bit of damage, meaning you can do extremely high damage at close range. Infinity +1 Sword: The DiVE armors, incredibly powerful suits based on the inventory icons for certain tiers of armor equipment in-game that supercharge the X protagonists, Iris, RiCO, and iCO to their absolute limits. Even MegaMan.EXE gets in on the action by using the DiVE Armor for the Cross System, which along with inheriting the DiVE armor's absurd strength, lets him use Beast Out's weapons without restraint. It eventually culminates in X upgrading his DiVE armor even further to a new version of the Ultimate Armor, just in time to face ViA -square- and the Maverick Virus itself. On the actual equipment side of things, the ultimate weapons of each category. The Ultimate Blast (Buster), The Miracle Blade (Saber), The Deconstructor (Machine Gun), The Light Bender (Spray Gun) and the Fantasia Comet (Launcher). Not coincidentally, they appear to take visual cues from the DiVE Armors: The Ultimate Blast is the Buster of X's DiVE Armor, the Miracle Blade appears to be one of the blades of Zero's DiVE Armor, The Deconstructor evokes Axl's DiVE Armor via the red, black and white color scheme and having an insignia on it that matches Axl's energy wings, the pink and cyan colour scheme of The Light Bender, combined with its shape, evokes an appearance similar to that of iCO's DiVE Armor, and lastly, the Fantasia Comet has the same energy back and Hikari Family Crest emblazoned on it to link it to DiVE Cross MegaMan.EXE. Curiously, this leaves Iris and RiCO without weapons pertaining to their DiVE Armors. The Japanese names for the Fantasia Comet, Miracle Saber, Deconstructor and Ultimate Blast drive home their links to the respective Dive Armors even more- the Ultimate Blast's Japanese name is the most blatant: X DiVE Buster, the Miracle Saber's Japanese name is similarly blatant: Z DiVE Saber, as is the Deconstructor's: A DiVE Arms. The only one that isn't super blatant is Fantasia Comet's Japanese name, R Cross Dream.

Meta Fiction: Besides taking place outside of Mega Man's narrative, the game's final act is a commentary on the role of the antagonist in fiction. Namely, it posits the idea that a story without someone or something to defeat as an antagonist (or some other obstacle in the end) only leads to stagnation and and an absence of meaning in its conflict. The Deep Log's copy of Sigma, while using his personality from before becoming a Maverick, is aware that he is meant to be the villain of the story, and subtly tells RiCO that if she does not have the resolve to end the Deep Log's problems right then and there by killing ViA, it will continue to be filled with Maverick data as long as they live due to ViA being a part of the Maverick Virus itself. RiCO herself, in pursuit of an alternative option, only proves Sigma's point by having more Mavericks thrown at the player to fight, and ViA meanwhile has already accepted his fate since the beginning and would rather make the full use of what little time he has left before he must be destroyed. Ultimately, RiCO has to be physically restrained by ViA and iCO, who pull the plug themselves and put the final nail in the coffin for Sigma's lesson, with the Deep Log finally correcting itself for the last time upon their death.

Temporary Online Content: Zig-zagged. On one hand, the game itself received an offline version that will let you play the full game and all of its content without any DRM or Allegedly Free Game commitments. On the other, Capcom confirmed that all crossover collaboration events, stages, weapons and characters will not be carried over to Offline, making them fall under this. A fun situation involving this happens with the non-collaboration events. Offline allows you to turn on and off any 'off-season' event, while having a built-in event clock so there's always an even running.

Promoted to Playable: Considering all the other playable characters, this game marks the first time that Ferham, Iris, Dynamo, Sigma*Although Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite was the first game Sigma was playable, this game marks the first time were he's playable in a Mega Man game., Pandora, Copy X, and Bit are playable. Technically you can play as something close to Leviathan and Harpuia by using Models L or H in Mega Man ZX and Advent, but this is also the first time any of the Four Guardians have been playable outside of minigames. The same can be said for Colonel by way of his NetNavi counterpart in the Battle Network series, but this is the first time that the original Reploid is playable. Magma Dragoon was later added as a playable character after he foreshadowed his potential playability. He also has the honor of being the first animal-themed reploid in the entire series to finally be playable (outside of copy forms). Dr. Light became playable as "Dr. Light the Martial Artist". That gi he put on in Mega Man X wasn't just for show, he can actually use ki.

Mirror Match: Barring the potential of facing other players using the same character as you in the PvP section, it's possible to play as Vile and fight against Vile in the Goliath Ride Armor, as well as having the possibility of having Sigma present in the Raid Boss fight against Wolf Sigma / Phantom Sigma / Final Form Sigma, Zero (Z) present to fight against Omega during the ZX Event, Bit fighting against himself, or even Magma Dragoon in the traditional Street Fighter sense of the word, ala Ryu and Ken. Interestingly enough, there is a bit of Developer's Foresight found in the game's data, which suggests (at the time of writing) that the Goliath version of Vile will have a different skin while fighting as the playable Vile.

Gameplay Randomization: If you unlock all the ranks on an S-ranked weapon, you can then unlock a final hidden skill on that weapon. It's unknown what that skill is on account of randomness, though they tend to lean towards something related such as speeding up the damage over time for weapons that cause poison or burning. If you don't like the result, you may reroll at the cost of a handful of resources.

However, their true nature isn't disclosed until they discover that once again, the only solution for the current set of problems at hand is to let them — and thus what amounts to Zero's soul — die so that everything else may live.

Anti-Frustration Features
Mega Man X DiVE (Video Game) / int_d6f284a3
comment
Anti-Frustration Features: After you get a character or weapon from the gacha, each subsequent pull of the same earns you patches you can buy memories with to buff the star rank. The patches apply to all memories equally, so you can keep increasing the star ratings without having to wait for a new banner to roll around and trying to draw the same thing again. The armor, weapon and gallery-based boosts are universal, with the characters not having a strict 'levelling' system, only needing their rank and skill levels boosting, meaning that all characters have the same base stats. In most Mega Man games, touching spikes/needles results in instant death; here, you simply lose a chunk of HP instead, which is fixed no matter the difficulty level. If your character has access to a damage-reduction shield as well, even that can be negated. The Offline version completely removes the 'blind box' aspect of unlocking characters and weapons, allowing players to pick and choose characters to play with and their favourite weapon options, allowing every player to have their own personal customized experience. As a trade-off, only a selection of characters and weapons are available until you progress in the game. The Offline version also has a unique way of dealing with the rolling event schedule. Whichever event was running at that time on the original version gets automatically activated and has priority on the main menu music. Also, you can manually add or subtract additional (formerly) limited time events and use the event vouchers to unlock any Event content, not just that event's.

Ridiculously Human Robots: The alternate costumes for many characters show that Reploids and Robot Masters are actually mostly human in design, with their trademark bulky boots and armor being removable. The only thing that really shows them off as different from actual humans are seam lines on their skin. Of course, that's putting aside the fact that they are data clones of the real characters inside of Cyberspace. Mega Man Trigger is a "System Unit", a hyper advanced successor to the Reploids with so many organic parts he can both be mistaken for and produce offspring with the humans of his time. note Whilst the humans of the time are descendants of artificially created humans, originally designated as "Carbons", Carbons were created to be able to survive and be vulnerable to all the things that "true" humans could survive. The last "true" human also declared the Carbons, human's successors. So its entirely possible that System Units can breed with "true" humans too. Trigger can also turn his memory into data and "factory reset" himself to infant form.

Identical Stranger: ViA is almost identical to Zero as he appeared in the first Mega Man X as a result of the errors in the Deep Log.

Micro-Transactions

Microtransactions: Initially released as a mobile game featuring tons of content, this was inevitable. However, it was far less egregious than other games of its kind, and was easily playable without spending real money. In fact, the only real purpose for doing so was to unlock guaranteed drops faster, as the available characters for direct purchase were either part of the newcomer login bonuses or story progressing rewards. Anything else was bought with Element Metal or Zenny, and only included either consumables or additional Memory shards for ranking up things that have already been unlocked. Notably, the Offline version makes it so you can earn both Element Metal and Zenny, and removes the gacha mechanics entirely, moving everything to the in-game store, removing what microtransactions remained, with only the Event drops using their own currency.

Both the fights with Mega Scorpio and Goliath invoke Zero's most well-known scenes from X1.

My Future Self and Me: With the addition of the Zero series characters, it was possible for a match or co-op to have both the X series Zero and "Zero (Z)" present. The same goes for the potential Developer's Foresight mentioned above.
